Sutok

Sutok was an alien humanoid who lived during the mid-24th century. During the 2370s, he operated a vendor's stand in the marketplace on space station located on the edge of the Nekrit Expanse. In reality, however, his main source of income was operating as a criminal narcotics dealer, despite dealing under the watchful eyes of the station's manager, Bahrat.

In 2373, when USS Voyager visited the depot in need of supplies, Sutok encountered Tom Paris and Chakotay, who were looking for some magnetic spindle bearings. Though he had none to sell, he instead offered them a tube of Rhuludian crystals, to ease their journey, for a surprisingly reasonable price.

Later at the station, Neelix met with an old friend named Wixiban. Wix told Neelix that his contact, a physician, who could provide them with the astrometric chart Neelix required, if Neelix helped Wix deliver some "medical supplies" to physician on the station.

After they acquired the medical supplies from a nearby freighter, the two men discretely met with Wix' contact, who was discovered to be Sutok, for the exchange. When Neelix realized that the goods were narcotics – more of the crystals Sutok tried to sell to Chatokay and Paris – Sutok attempted to steal them at phaser-point. Reinforced by his two henchmen, a fight broke out, Neelix was injured, and Sutok was killed by Wixiban.

Initially, Bahrat arrested Paris and Chakotay for "conspiring with known drug traffickers and murder", after reviewing surveillance video their previous contact in the marketplace from several hours prior, but they were later exonerated when Neelix came clean about their involvement.
