Casmus III
Casmus III was a planet located somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants, the third planet in orbit of the Casmus star system in Federation space.
History and specifics[]
By the late 23rd century, in the 2280s decade, Casmus III was orbited by Starbase 42. The starship USS Enterprise-A traveled to the planet in the year 2287 on its first mission following the visit to Sha Ka Ree, on the way to the Chronian system. (TOS comics: "The Return!", "The Sentence")
- While not mentioned by name, the TOS - Errand of Vengeance novel: River of Blood and TOS - Errand of Fury novel: Seeds of Rage state that Starbase 42 orbits a planet on which dilithium had been found.
