Ripperworm

Ripperworms are long, vicious worm-like creatures that inhabit the polluted filth of Nausicaa. Fully grown ripperworms grow to be between one and four feet long, and the front quarter of their bodies is covered in poisonous barbs. They are pack hunters, using their ability to sense heat to track down and swarm prey, leaving no remains of their meals.

The Orion crime boss Kaldo Pell was known to use a pit of ripperworms to dispose of his enemies. (Last Unicorn RPG module: Planets of the UFP)
