Starbase 212
Starbase 212 was a Federation starbase, a Starfleet installation in operation in the 23rd century. It was located in the Keylali system. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
History and specifics[]
Starbase 212 was located near the Federation-Klingon Empire border, on the far side of Klingon space from Earth, near Canopus and Relay Station 47. (ST reference: Star Charts)
In the year 2270, the starship USS Enterprise finished its five-year mission at Starbase 212. On stardate 7251.1, Admiral Koraxi had a fleet assembled at Starbase 212, led by his flagship, the USS Theseus. The fleet welcomed the Enterprise home from its five-year mission, and was involved with protecting the starbase from the Klingon warship IKS Gauntlet. (TOS - Year Five comic: "Issue 13")
The year 2356 saw the starbase as a target for a Tal Shiar attack which was foiled by Telek R'Mor, Kaleh, the crew of the USS Voyager and the Romulan Empress. (VOY - Dark Matters novels: Cloak and Dagger, Ghost Dance, Shadow of Heaven)
Charles, Morgan, and Robin Lefler lived on Starbase 212 for over two years, between 2357 and 2359. (NF - No Limits short story: "Lefler's Logs")
In 2369, the USS Enterprise-D asked the starbase to help in the search for the shuttle of Aquiel Uhnari. Aquiel later transferred from Relay Station 47 to Starbase 212 to wait for reassignment. (TNG episode: "Aquiel")
In 2371, officials at Starbase 212 conducted a cursory inspection of Orion Captain Bel Hal-agh's freighter. (Star Trek Adventures RPG module: The Command Division)
In 2376, the USS da Vinci visited Starbase 212, where they brought aboard a temporary SCE engineer, Ensign Hj'olla. (SCE eBook: Fables of the Prime Directive)
In 2377, on stardate 54465.36, sensors had detected Borg vessels in a nearby asteroid field, on an attack vector towards Starbase 212. The attack would have been successful had it not been for the efforts of the crew of the USS Typhon, who used the ship's pulse phaser turrets in fortress mode because they did not have new Valkyrie-class fighters to mount an effective defense. (ST video game: Invasion)
