Shotlist:
Maltamour reflects instant impressions of an imperial past, prompting flashbacks in the island memory. Time seems to be anytime but the present in such a stimulating environment. Malta provides all that the conventional tourist wants from a sunny mediterranean island, and stirs the memory as well. Eduardo Paolozzi, the internationally known Scottish-Italian artist, was chosen to interpret this attraction within the film, with his background as the recognised founder of the Pop Art Movement. He has done this by interviewing two characteristically Maltese individuals (a junk shop proprietor and a sailor's bar owner) which help to take the tourist inside Malta. The renowned modern church of Richard England appears near the end of the film, epitomising the new Malta (23.00)
