Edara was the lady of Jehesic in the Dark Age of Terisiare, on the plane of Dominaria.[1]

Description[ | ]

Lady Edara was known for her beauty: pale-glowing skin, sea-green eyes, and long, bright copper hair fluttering wildly in the ocean winds. [1]

History[ | ]

Lady Edara ruled the island state of Jehesic bordering the Ilesemare Sea. The island was heavily fortified, and she had no designs on expansion. Lord Peemel of Iwset longed to claim her lands, however, and he proposed a marriage, which she repeatedly turned down, much to the traitorous sorceress Ferantia's irritation. Eventually, Ferantia betrayed Edara openly, forcing her up onto the wall by coercion magic, but before the sorceress could complete her plans, she was stabbed to death by Edara's secret lover, the dwarf Apepei.[1]

Later in the war, Edara was kidnapped by Lord Peemel to be used as a trade-off against Peemel's general-in-chief Ihesia, who had been taken prisoner of war by Jehesic. However, Peemel's plans came to naught as he was stabbed in the back by his advisor Digody, Apepei's arch-rival. Apepei in turn slew Digody, and with the Sigil of Iwset, they made plans to marry Edara to Yunnie, the son of Peemel's late wife. Yunnie refused this, shattering the Sigil and leaving Iwset. This meant that Edara and Apepei would start their combined rule of Iwset and Jehesic in an uneasy but true alliance, with no true claim to the throne of Iwset and characters like Ihesia and Offero scheming in the background.[1]
