The Time of the Thran of Dominaria was a period largely lost to time which saw the absolute rule of the Thran Empire over the continent of Terisiare.
Description[ | ]
The era's origins are unknown, but Halcyon solidified its place as the Empire's capital following a highly politicized conflict that resulted in Yawgmoth's exile. However, the civilization was already firmly established before this time, developed, and extremely advanced, including technology so sophisticated that it allowed Halcyon to fly above the ground. It is specifically mentioned that the Thran used powerstone technology for "thousands of years".[2]
Although most events from this period have been forgotten, the Thran Civil War which ended the period is well described. This war led to the absolute destruction of the Thran Empire, the fall of Halcyon, the rise of the Phyrexians, and the banishment of Yawgmoth from the plane.
