"Home for the Holidays", sometimes titled "(There's No Place Like) Home for the Holidays", is a popular Christmas song. It was a hit for Perry Como in 1954, but has also been recorded by numerous other artists. The upbeat song intersperses a chorus about the importance of being at home for holidays, with a quirky verse about people traveling across the US to get home which reaches the humorous conclusion "From Atlantic to Pacific, Gee the traffic is terrific!"
It is sung by Miss Piggy and the cast in A Muppet Family Christmas, when she finally arrives at Emily Bear's farmhouse.
The song had previously been performed on The Jimmy Dean Show on the November 28, 1963 broadcast, with Rowlf contributing a "Scooby-dee-doo" near the end and joining the entire cast for the final line. On the November 26, 1964 broadcast, Jimmy Dean and Rowlf sang the song again when Jimmy invites Rowlf to his Thanksgiving dinner after the show.
