The application provides a terminal, including: a transparent front cover; a rear cover for forming a rear surface of the terminal; a bezel surrounding the transparent front cover and the rear cover to form a space; the display screen is embedded in the space and exposed through the transparent front cover, and the display screen is flat in surface; the transparent front cover comprises a first surface and a second surface; the first surface for forming a front surface of a terminal, comprising: a first flat portion, a first curved portion extending from a first side edge in a width direction of the first flat portion; a second curved portion extending from a second side edge in the width direction of the first flat portion; the first curved portion and the second curved portion are opposite and both curved toward the bezel to form at least a portion of the terminal side surface; the second surface is curved simultaneously with the first surface; the width of the display screen is greater than the width of the first flat portion.

Technical Field
The application relates to the technical field of electronics, in particular to a terminal.
Background
Portable terminals such as mobile phones, tablet computers, smartwatches, etc. generally use a standard flat panel display for information input, and since the standardized flat panel display outputs information only in one direction, the information transfer capability is inevitably limited.
Therefore, there is a need for a terminal to output information having a curved display area.
Disclosure of Invention
The application provides a terminal with a curved display area.
A first aspect provides a terminal, comprising: a transparent front cover; a rear cover for forming a rear surface of the terminal; a bezel surrounding the transparent front cover and the rear cover to form a space; the display screen is embedded in the space and exposed through the transparent front cover, and the display screen is flat in surface; the transparent front cover comprises a first surface and a second surface; the first surface for forming a front surface of a terminal, comprising: a first flat portion, a first curved portion extending from a first side edge in a width direction of the first flat portion; a second curved portion extending from a second side edge in the width direction of the first flat portion; the first curved portion and the second curved portion are opposite and both curved toward the bezel to form at least a portion of the terminal side surface; the second surface is curved simultaneously with the first surface; the width of display screen is greater than the width of first flat portion, the display screen to the distance of first flat portion is greater than the first side of display screen reaches the distance of first curved portion, the display screen to the distance of first flat portion is greater than the second side of display screen reaches the distance of second curved portion, the first side of display screen with the second side of display screen is relative.

In one possible implementation manner of the present application, the terminal includes a processor and a memory, and is disposed in the space, where the memory is configured to store instructions, and the processor executes the instructions to perform: displaying a first screen on a first area of the display screen, wherein the first area of the display screen displays the first screen through the flat portion; displaying a second screen different from the first screen on a second area of the display screen, wherein the second area of the display screen displays the second screen through the left curved portion; and displaying a third screen different from the first screen on a third area of the display screen, wherein the third area of the display screen displays the third screen through the right side bent portion.
In one possible implementation of the present application, the terminal includes a first touch region disposed on a portion of the left-side bending part and/or a second touch region disposed on a portion of the right-side bending part, wherein the terminal is configured to receive a power-on or power-off input through at least one of the first touch region and the second touch region.
Yet another aspect of the present application provides a computer-readable storage medium having stored therein instructions, which when executed on a computer, cause the computer to perform the method of the above-described aspects.
Yet another aspect of the present application provides a computer program product containing instructions which, when run on a computer, cause the computer to perform the method of the above-described aspects.

The technical solutions in the embodiments will be described below with reference to the drawings in some embodiments.

The terminal, graphical user interface for the terminal and associated embodiments of using the terminal are described below. The terminal may be a mobile phone (also called a smart phone), a Tablet Personal Computer (Tablet Personal Computer), a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), an electronic book reader (english: e-book reader), or a Wearable Device (Wearable Device), a Computer, etc., and the terminal may establish communication with a network through a wired access manner or a wireless access manner (such as 2G (second generation mobile phone communication technical specification), 3G (third generation mobile phone communication technical specification), 4G (fourth generation mobile phone communication technical specification), 5G (fifth generation mobile phone communication technical specification), or a W-LAN (wireless local area network)) or a communication manner that may appear in the future. It will be clear to the skilled person that: the terminal is not limited to the above-described devices.
For convenience of explanation, in the following embodiments, a mobile phone is taken as an example of a terminal. Fig. 1 illustrates a schematic structural diagram of a
mobile phone100 capable of supporting a plurality of applications, such as a telephone application, an instant messaging application, a digital photographing and/or shooting application, a web browsing application, a music and/or video playing application, a video communication application, a social networking application, a financial application, a weather application, a shopping application, an office application, and the like, according to an embodiment of the present application.
Fig. 1 is a block diagram illustrating a partial structure of a
mobile phone100 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Referring to fig. 1, a
mobile phone100 includes RF (Radio Frequency) circuits 110, a
memory120, an
input unit130, a
display unit140, a
sensor150, an
audio circuit160, a WiFi (wireless fidelity)
module170, a
processor180, and a
power supply190.
Those skilled in the art will appreciate that the mobile telephone architecture shown in fig. 1 is by way of example only and is not intended to be limiting of mobile telephones, and may include more or fewer components than those shown, or some of the components may be combined, or a different arrangement of components.
The following describes each component of the
mobile phone100 in detail with reference to fig. 1:
the RF circuit 110 may be used for receiving and transmitting signals during information transmission and reception or during a call, and in particular, receives downlink information of a base station and then processes the received downlink information to the
processor180; in addition, the data for designing uplink is transmitted to the base station. Typically, the RF circuit includes, but is not limited to, an antenna, at least one Amplifier, a transceiver, a coupler, an LNA (Low Noise Amplifier), a duplexer, and the like. In addition, the RF circuitry 110 may also communicate with networks and other devices via wireless communications. The wireless communication may use any communication standard or protocol, including but not limited to GSM (Global System for Mobile communications), GPRS (General Packet Radio Service), CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access), WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access), LTE (Long Term Evolution), email, SMS (Short Messaging Service), and the like.
The
memory120 may be used to store software programs and modules, and the
processor180 executes various functional applications and data processing of the
mobile phone100 by operating the software programs and modules stored in the
memory120. The
memory120 may mainly include a storage program area and a storage data area, wherein the storage program area may store an operating system, an application program required by at least one function (such as a sound playing function, an image playing function, etc.), and the like; the storage data area may store data (such as audio data, a phonebook, etc.) created according to the use of the
mobile phone100, and the like. Further, the
memory120 may include high speed random access memory, and may also include non-volatile memory, such as at least one magnetic disk storage device, flash memory device, or other volatile solid state storage device.
The
input unit130 may be used to receive input numeric or character information and generate key signals or motion signal inputs related to user settings and function control of the
mobile phone100. Specifically, the
input unit130 may include one or more of a
touch panel131, a
camera132, and
other input devices132. The
touch panel131 may be a touch screen or a touch pad, where the touch screen is a device integrating a display screen and a touch area, the touch pad is a touch sensitive area of a device that does not display visual output, and the touch pad may be a touch sensitive surface separated from the display screen or an extension of the touch sensitive surface formed by the touch screen, and the
touch panel131 may collect a touch operation of a user on or near the touch panel 131 (for example, an operation of the user on or near the
touch panel131 using any suitable object or accessory such as a finger or a stylus pen), and drive a corresponding connection device according to a preset program. Alternatively, the
touch panel131 may include two parts, i.e., a touch detection device and a touch controller. The touch detection device detects the touch direction of a user, detects a signal brought by touch operation and transmits the signal to the touch controller; the touch controller receives touch information from the touch sensing device, converts the touch information into touch point coordinates, sends the touch point coordinates to the
processor180, and can receive and execute commands sent by the
processor180. In addition, the
touch panel131 may be implemented by various types such as a resistive type, a capacitive type, an infrared ray, and a surface acoustic wave. The
camera132, which may be one or more analog cameras, digital cameras, depth cameras, or any combination of any of the above, may collect video signals, and transmit the video signals to the
processor180, so that the
processor180 may collect input signals from the video signals (e.g., recognize gesture operations of a user from the video signals). In addition to the
touch panel131 and the
camera132, the
input unit130 may include
other input devices133. In particular,
other input devices133 may include, but are not limited to, one or more of a physical keyboard, function keys (e.g., volume control keys, switch keys, etc.), a trackball, a mouse, a joystick, a brain wave recognizer, a gyroscope, etc., and furthermore, the
input unit130 may be overlaid onto the microphone 162, the
sensor150, etc., and in some embodiments, the microphone 162 may collect audio signals and transmit the audio signals to the processor for the processor to collect input signals from the audio signals (e.g., to recognize a user's voice operation from the audio signals), etc.
The
display unit140 may be used to display information input by the user or information provided to the user and various menus of the
mobile phone100. The
Display unit140 may include one or more of a
Display screen141, a
projection device142, or
other Display devices143, and optionally, the
Display screen141 may be configured in the form of an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), an OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode), or the like. Further, the
touch panel131 can cover the
display screen141, and when the
touch panel131 detects a touch operation on or near the
touch panel131, the touch operation is transmitted to the
processor180 to determine the type of the touch event, and then the
processor180 provides a corresponding visual output on the
display screen141 according to the type of the touch event. Although in fig. 1 the
touch panel131 and the
display screen141 are two separate components to implement the input and output functions of the
mobile phone100, in some embodiments, the
touch panel131 and the
display screen141 may be integrated to implement the input and output functions of the
mobile phone100. The
projection device142 may be a pico projector or a 3D holographic projector, wherein the pico projector may be a device that is mounted on a smart glasses device and projects an image onto a retina of a human eye through a semi-transparent prism to form an image, and the pico projector may also be a device that forms an image by projecting onto a display screen or a display screen of a mobile phone. A 3D (three-dimensional) holographic projector can utilize interference and diffraction principles to directly project in solid space to render a true three-dimensional image of an object. In addition to the
display screen141 and the
projection device142, the
display unit140 may also include
other display devices142. In particular, the
other display devices142 may include, but are not limited to, display devices (such as televisions, etc.) connected to the mobile phone through one or more of a wireless local area network, a USB (Universal Serial Bus), an HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) cable, and the like.
The
mobile phone100 may also include at least one
sensor150, such as a light sensor, a motion sensor, and other sensors. Specifically, the light sensor may include an ambient light sensor that adjusts the brightness of the
display141 according to the brightness of ambient light, and a proximity sensor that turns off the
display141 and/or the backlight when the
mobile phone100 is moved to the ear. As one of the motion sensors, the accelerometer sensor may detect the magnitude of acceleration in each direction (generally, three axes), detect the magnitude and direction of gravity when stationary, and may be used for applications (such as horizontal and vertical screen switching, related games, magnetometer attitude calibration), vibration recognition related functions (such as pedometer, tapping), and other sensors such as a gyroscope, a barometer, a hygrometer, a thermometer, and an infrared sensor, which are also configurable for the
mobile phone100, and are not described herein again.
160, speaker 161, and microphone 162 may provide an audio interface between a user and the
mobile telephone100. The
audio circuit160 may transmit the electrical signal converted from the received audio data to the speaker 161, and convert the electrical signal into a sound signal for output by the speaker 161; on the other hand, the microphone 162 converts the collected sound signal into an electric signal, which is received by the
audio circuit160 and converted into audio data, which is then processed by the audio
data output processor180 and then transmitted to, for example, another mobile phone via the RF circuit 110, or the audio data is output to the
memory120 for further processing.
WiFi is a short-range wireless transmission technology, and the
mobile phone100 can help the user send and receive e-mails, browse web pages, access streaming media, etc. through the
WiFi module170, which provides the user with wireless broadband internet access. Although fig. 1 shows the
WiFi module170, it is understood that it does not belong to the essential components of the
mobile phone100, and may be omitted entirely as needed.
The
processor180 is a control center of the
mobile phone100, connects various parts of the entire mobile phone using various interfaces and lines, performs various functions of the
mobile phone100 and processes data by operating or executing software programs and/or modules stored in the
memory120 and calling data stored in the
memory120, thereby monitoring the mobile phone as a whole. Alternatively,
processor180 may include one or more processing units; preferably, the
processor180 may integrate an application processor, which mainly handles operating systems, user interfaces, application programs, etc., and a modem processor, which mainly handles wireless communications. It will be appreciated that the modem processor described above may not be integrated into the
processor180.
The
mobile phone100 also includes a power supply 190 (e.g., a battery) for powering the various components, which may preferably be logically coupled to the
processor180 via a power management system that may be used to manage charging, discharging, and power consumption.
Although not shown, the
mobile phone100 may further include a camera, a bluetooth module, etc., which will not be described herein.
Fig. 2A is a front perspective view of a mobile phone according to various embodiments of the present application. Fig. 2B is a rear perspective view of a mobile phone according to various embodiments of the present application. Fig. 3 illustrates a view of a mobile phone from multiple directions according to various embodiments of the present application.
Referring to fig. 2A, 2B and 3, a
front cover201 forms a front surface of the
mobile phone200, an upper surface (surface exposed to the outside) of the
front cover201 forms a front surface of the mobile phone, and the front surface of the
mobile phone200 may include a
display region2010 and a
non-display region2015. The
rear cover213 forms a rear surface of the
mobile phone200. The
rear cover213 may be made of a metal material or a non-metal material; or the
rear cover213 is formed by a metal material and a non-metal material, for example, the
rear cover213 includes a
metal area2134 and a
spacer2135, and one or
more metal areas2134 may be used as an antenna radiator.
A
bezel206 is disposed along the outer perimeter of the
mobile phone200 as part of the housing of the
mobile phone200. The width of the
bezel206 may be a portion or all of the thickness of the mobile phone and the
bezel206 may be formed as a closed loop. The bezel may be an extension of at least a portion of the
rear cover213. The frame can be a metal frame, a non-metal frame or a metal and non-metal material. For example, the
metal bezel206 is disposed along the outer circumference of the
mobile phone200, and includes one or
more cutouts2061, the
cutouts2061 are filled with a non-metal material, and a portion of the
metal bezel206 divided by the cutouts may be used as an antenna radiator of the
mobile phone200.
According to the embodiment of the present application, the
earpiece202 may be disposed at an upper side of the
display area2010 as viewed from the front of the mobile phone. Some components for performing the functions of the
mobile phone200 may be arranged around the
earpiece202, which may include at least one sensor module: such as a proximity sensor (e.g., an optical sensor), etc. The assembly may include a front facing camera device. According to an embodiment of the application, the components may include an indicator light to inform the user of the status information of the
mobile phone200. Some electronic components, for example, one or more of the
microphone203, the
speaker204, the
earphone socket207, and the
USB interface208, may be disposed on the lower side of the
display area2010, and an opening corresponding to the electronic components may be formed on a frame located on the lower side of the display area. Various electronic components may also be disposed on the bezel to the left or the bezel to the right of the
display area2010, according to various embodiments of the present application. For example, on a bezel on the left side of the display area, a
socket device205 for inserting a card-type external apparatus may be arranged. The
socket device205 may accommodate at least one of an inherent Identification (ID) card (e.g., a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card or a User Identity Module (UIM)) of a mobile phone and a memory card for expanding a memory space. One or more side key buttons may be partially prominently disposed on a bezel on the right side of the display area, for example, the side key buttons may include a
volume key209 for enabling execution of a volume up/down function, a scroll function, etc., and an on/off
key210 for enabling execution of a power on/off function, a mobile phone wake-up/sleep function, etc.
According to various embodiments of the present application, the
rear camera device211 may be disposed on a rear surface of the
mobile phone200, and one or more
electronic components212 may be disposed on a side of the
rear camera device211. The
electronic components212 may include at least one of: for example, an illuminance sensor (e.g., an optical sensor), a proximity sensor (e.g., an optical sensor), an infrared sensor, a flash, etc.
According to various embodiments of the present application, the
front cover201 may include a
flat portion2011 and a left-side
curved portion2012 and a right-side
curved portion2013, where the left-side
curved portion2012 and the right-side
curved portion2013 are formed on left and right sides of the
flat portion2011, respectively, and the left-side
curved portion2012 and the right-side
curved portion2013 are opposite. The left and right
curved portions2012 and 2013 may be formed to extend from the
flat portion2011 in the width direction of the
mobile phone200 of fig. 2A. Each of the left side
bent portion2012 and the right side bent
portion2013 may be a portion of a side of the
mobile phone200. In this case, the left
curved portion2012 and the right
curved portion2013 may form sides of the
mobile phone200 along with left and right portions of the
bezel206, respectively. Without being limited thereto, the
front cover201 may include at least one of a left-side
bent portion2012 and a right-side
bent portion2013. The upper and lower surfaces of the
front cover201 are simultaneously curved, and both the upper and lower surfaces of the front cover include corresponding flat portions, left-side curved portions, and right-side curved portions, and the
front cover201 may be formed of a transparent glass material (e.g., sapphire glass) or a transparent synthetic resin material. A
display area2010 exposed from the
front cover201 is provided with a display screen, and the
display area2010 includes a portion of the flat portion, a portion of the left-side bent portion, and a portion of the right-side bent portion of the
front cover201.
According to various embodiments of the present application, the
rear cover213 may include a
flat portion2131 and left and right
curved portions2132 and 2133, wherein the left and right
curved portions2132 and 2133 are formed on the left and right sides of the
flat portion2131, respectively. The left and right
curved portions2132 and 2133 may be formed to extend from the
flat portion2131 in the width direction of the
mobile phone200 of fig. 2B. Each of the left and right bending
portions2132 and 2133 may be a portion of a side of the
mobile phone200. In this case, the left and right
bent portions2132 and 2133 may form the sides of the
mobile phone200 along with the left and right portions of the
bezel206, respectively. Without being limited thereto, the
rear cover213 may include at least one of the left and right
curved portions2132 and 2133, or the
rear cover213 may include only a flat portion.
Fig. 4 is an exploded perspective view illustrating a mobile phone according to an embodiment of the present application. Hereinafter, the mobile phone shown in fig. 4 may be the same mobile phone as the
mobile phone200 described above.
Referring to fig. 4, the
mobile phone400 may include a
front cover410, a
display420, a
case430, a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) 440, a
battery450, and a
rear cover460. The
front cover410 and the
display screen420 are stacked over the
housing430, with the
front cover410 over the
display screen420; the PCB430, the
battery450, and the
rear cover460 are under the
case430, and the PCB440 and the
battery450 are disposed between the
case430 and the
rear cover460. The
housing430 may have a receiving space (not shown) thereon to receive the PCB440 and the
battery450, and the
battery450 is disposed to avoid the
PCB440. The PCB440 and the
battery450 are arranged in parallel without overlapping each other in the thickness direction of the mobile phone. The
display420 may be fixed to the
outer case430, the
display420 may be further fixed to the
front cover410 via an adhesive, and the
front cover410 may be fixed by being attached to the
outer case430 via an adhesive. The adhesive member may be of a tape type (such as a double-sided tape) or a liquid adhesive layer (e.g., glue).
According to various embodiments of the present application, the
front cover410 may include a
flat portion4011 and left and right
curved portions4012 and 4013, the left and right
curved portions4011 and 4012 extending from left and right sides of the
flat portion4011 and being curved toward the housing, and upper and lower surfaces of the
front cover410 are correspondingly shaped, i.e., the upper and lower surfaces have corresponding flat portions, left and right curved portions. According to an embodiment of the present application, a
front cover410 is positioned on the
mobile phone400 to form a front surface, and is formed of a transparent material to display a screen presented by the
display screen420 and provide an input/output window for various sensors. According to the embodiment of the present application, although the left
side bending portion4012 and the right
side bending portion4013 are shown to be formed in a curved shape, a shape in which the upper and lower portions and the left and right portions are singly curved or a shape in which the upper, lower, left, and right portions are doubly curved may be used. When the
front cover410 is provided with the left-side bending part and the right-side bending part, the bezel includes: a first side surface surrounding an edge of the first left-side bent portion; a second side surface surrounding an edge of the right-side bent portion; a third side interconnecting one end of the first side with one end of the second side; and a fourth side interconnecting the other end of the first side with the other end of the second side, and wherein the first side and the second side have a first height and the third side and the fourth side have a second height, wherein the second height is higher than the first height. When the front cover is provided with a left-side bending portion and a right-side bending portion, and an upper-side bending portion and a lower-side bending portion, the bezel includes: a first side surface surrounding an edge of the first left-side bent portion; a second side surface surrounding an edge of the right-side bent portion; a third side interconnecting one end of the first side with one end of the second side; and a fourth side interconnecting the other end of the first side with the other end of the second side, and wherein the first side, the second side, the third side, and the fourth side have the same height.
According to an embodiment of the present application, a touch panel may be further disposed on a rear surface of the
front cover410 and may receive a touch input signal from the outside.
An opaque layer may be disposed on a rear surface of the
front cover410 in order to hide the interior of the
mobile phone400. The opaque layer disposed on the
front cover410 may be applied to an area excluding the display area. The opaque layer may be implemented by a process such as printing, vapor deposition, or painting, or the opaque layer may be additionally attached to the rear surface of the
front cover410 for an auxiliary material such as a film type sheet. An opaque layer may be applied to the
back cover460.
The
display screen420 is a flat display screen, the surface of the
display screen420 close to the front cover is a flat surface, and the
display screen420 can be an LCD flat panel module or an OLED flat panel display module. A display screen may be used as the
display area4010. The touch panel may also be part of the
display screen420.
A support member may be further disposed between the
display screen420 and the
housing430, and the support member is disposed on a rear surface of the
display screen420 to support the display screen 320. The
display screen420 may be secured to a support member, which may be secured to the
housing430, by an adhesive.
The
housing430 forms the external appearance (e.g., side including a bezel) of the
mobile phone400, and the
front cover410 may be disposed at the front surface of the
housing430, and the
rear cover460 may be disposed at the rear surface of the
housing430. The
housing430 may be formed by injection molding a non-metallic material to the metal bezel. The
rear cover460 can variously implement the rear surface of the mobile phone by molding synthetic resin, or by using metal, a composite of metal and synthetic resin, or the like. Without being limited thereto, the rear cover and the bezel may be integrally formed with the
outer case430. The
back cover460 may be secured to the
housing430 by an adhesive or by a snap fit on the back cover and housing. The
rear cover460 may include only a flat portion, or similar to the
front cover410, including a flat portion, a left-side curved portion, and a right-side curved portion.
The
battery450 may provide power to the
mobile phone400. One surface of the
battery450 may be adjacent to the
display module420 and the other surface may be adjacent to the
rear cover460.
FIG. 5 illustrates a schematic view of a
front cover410 including an
upper surface4110 and a
lower surface4120 according to an embodiment of the present application; an
upper surface4110 for forming a front surface of the terminal, comprising: a
flat portion4111, a first
curved portion4112 extending from a first side edge in the width direction of the
flat portion4111; a second
curved portion4113 extending from a second side edge in the width direction of the flat portion; the first
curved portion4112 and the second
curved portion4113 are opposed to form at least a portion of the terminal side surface.
Lower surface4120 and
upper surface4110, while curved, include: a
flat portion4121, a first
curved portion4122 extending from a first side edge in the width direction of the
flat portion4121; a second
curved portion4123 extending from a second side edge in the width direction of the flat portion; the first
curved portion4122 and the second
curved portion4123 are opposite. The
upper surface4110 and the lower surface 4220 are curved in corresponding positions. According to an embodiment of the present application, the
front cover410 may be a 3D curved thermally bent glass, the thickness of the
front cover410 may have a uniform thickness, formed in a shape having a specific curvature, or the flat portion and all of the left and right side bent portions of the
front cover410 may be formed to have a specific thickness, and the
front cover410 may be left-right symmetrical or left-right asymmetrical.
Fig. 6 is a schematic cross-sectional view along line AA of fig. 4 according to an embodiment of the present application.
Referring to fig. 6, the
display screen420 is fixed to the rear surface of the
front cover410 by an
adhesive member470, and the
adhesive member470 is an ocr (optical Clear resin) optical glue or an oca (optical Clear adhesive) optical tape. The
front cover410 may be fixed to the
housing430 by means of glue dispensing or the like. . The upper and lower surfaces of the
front cover410 are curved, and the curved portions correspond. The
display screen420 is applied to the
display area4010, the
display screen420 is a flat display screen, the width of the
display screen420 is smaller than that of the
front cover410, the width of the
display screen420 is larger than that of the
flat portion4011 of the
front cover410, and the distance from the
flat portion4011 of the
front cover410 to the
display screen420 is larger than the distance from the left side edge of the
display screen420 to the left
curved portion4012 of the
front cover410, and accordingly, the distance from the right side edge of the
display screen420 to the right
curved portion4013 of the
front cover410. In the width direction, the
display screen420 acts on at least a part of the left-side
curved portion4012 and the right-side
curved portion4013 in addition to the
flat portion4011, and according to the embodiment of the present application, a center line of a broadside of the
display screen420 is the same as a center line of a broadside of the
front cover420, or a center line of a broadside of the
display screen420 is the same as a center line of a broadside of the
flat portion4011, alternatively, a center line of a broadside of the
display screen420 and a center line of a broadside of the
front cover420 may be the same, and a center line of a broadside of the
display screen420 and a center line of a broadside of the
flat portion4011 may be the same or different.
According to various embodiments of the present application, the display screen is a flat display screen, and a surface of the display screen close to the front cover is a flat surface. The
mobile phone200 may control the display screen to selectively display information. Alternatively, the
mobile phone200 may control the display screen so as to display information only through the
flat portion2011, or the
mobile phone200 may control the display screen to display information through any one of the left-side
curved portion2012 and the right-side
curved portion2013 along with the
flat portion2011, or the
mobile phone200 may control the display screen to display information through at least one of the left-side
curved portion2012 and the right-side curved portion 2013 (excluding the flat portion 2011). Controlling the display screen of the mobile phone to display information through the curved portion may display information by controlling a partial area of the display screen, the partial area being adjacent to the curved portion.
Between the
housing430 and the
display420, an elastic member such as a spring or rubber and an adhesive layer, for example, a double-sided tape or some kind of sheet such as a single-sided tape, may be additionally disposed in order to protect the
display420.
The
rear cover460 is fixed to the
case430 by a snap or an adhesive, and an electronic component such as the PCB440 may be accommodated in a space formed by the
case430 and the
rear cover460, and the
battery450 may be arranged in parallel with the PCB440 to avoid the
PCB440.
Optionally, a first arrangement of heat dissipation elements, such as graphite sheets, may be added between the
housing430 and the
display420, between the
housing430 and the
battery450, and between the
battery450 and the
back cover460 to thermally protect the electronic components in the mobile phone.
In the space formed by the front and
rear covers410 and 460 and the
housing430, electronic components, such as: cameras, speakers, microphones, etc.
FIG. 7 illustrates another cross-sectional view along line AA of FIG. 4 according to embodiments of the present application.
Unlike fig. 6, in the embodiment shown in fig. 7, the
display screen420 is fixed to the
outer case430 by the adhesive 480 without being fixed to the
front cover410, i.e., the
display screen420 and the
front cover410 are fixed to the
outer case430, respectively.
Fig. 8 shows another cross-sectional schematic view of a mobile phone according to an embodiment of the application.
Unlike fig. 7, in the embodiment shown in fig. 8, a
support member490 is disposed between the
display420 and the
housing431, the
support member490 is used for a component for increasing the overall rigidity of the mobile phone, the
display420 is fixed to the
support member490 by an adhesive 472, the
support member490 can be fixed to the
housing431 by an adhesive or a snap, etc., and the
housing431 can have an empty space for accommodating the
battery450. The
rear cover461 may be flat. The thickness of the mobile phone in the embodiment shown in fig. 7 is smaller than that of the mobile phone shown in fig. 6, which is beneficial to making the mobile phone light and thin. It will be appreciated that the
housing430 of fig. 5 and 6 may be an integrally formed housing, or a separate member, including the
support member490 and the
housing431 as in fig. 7.
Fig. 9 is another cross-sectional view of a mobile phone according to an embodiment of the present invention, in comparison with fig. 5, a
touch panel421 is added between a
display screen420 and a
front cover410, the
touch panel421 is bent along a lower surface of the
front cover410, the
touch panel421 is fixed on the
front cover410 by an adhesive 474, the
touch panel421 is matched with an area of the
front cover410, a width of the
touch panel421 is greater than that of the
display screen420, a touch function can be provided on an area where the
display screen420 does not work, and the
display screen420 is fixed on the
touch panel421 by an adhesive 473. The
adhesive members473 and 474 are OCR optical glues or OCA optical tapes. Alternatively, the
display screen420 is not fixed to the
touch panel421, but is fixed to the housing as shown in fig. 6, or is fixed to the support member as shown in fig. 7. Alternatively, the width of the
touch panel421 is the same as the width of the
display screen420, so that the touch function is provided only in the region of the width on which the
display screen420 acts. The
touch panel421 may optionally have a length greater than that of the
display screen420, so that a touch function, such as a return key, a main menu key, a touch key of a task menu key, etc., may be provided in an area between the lower side of the
display screen420 and the bezel.
It will be appreciated that the
display screen420 in fig. 6-8 may be a display screen with a touch panel, i.e., a touch screen.
According to various embodiments of the present application, a mobile phone may control a touch panel to selectively receive a touch input signal. Alternatively, the mobile phone may control the touch panel so as to receive a touch input signal of the user only through the
flat portion4011, or the mobile phone may control the touch panel to receive a touch input signal through at least a portion of any one of the left and right
curved portions4012 and 4013 along with the
flat portion4011, or the mobile phone may control the touch panel to receive an input signal through at least a portion of at least one of the left and right
curved portions4012 and 4013 (excluding the flat portion 4011).
FIGS. 10A and 10B illustrate partial examples of front covers and bezels in embodiments of the present application, where as shown in FIG. 10A, the curvature of the curved portion of
front cover810 increases closer to the edge, reducing the distance of the display screen side to the corresponding side of the bezel relative to the embodiment shown in FIG. 6; as shown in fig. 10B, the
bezel930 and the
front cover910 have the same width, and the mobile phone may look without a bezel.
Fig. 11A-11C are conceptual diagrams providing operation of the
mobile phone200 according to embodiments of the present application.
As shown in fig. 11A, the
display region2010 is provided with a first region a, a second region B, and a third region C corresponding to the
flat portion2011, the left-side
curved portion2012, and the right-side
curved portion2013 of the front cover, respectively. Alternatively, the first, second, and third regions a, B, and C may be different from each other in the type of display information, or any one of the second and third regions B and C and the first region a may be as an integral region, and the type of display information may be different from another region, or the first, second, and third regions a, B, and C may be as an integral region, and the regions may be divided according to the different types of user graphical interfaces (GUIs) provided.
Referring to fig. 11A, an album page may be output on a display area of a mobile phone. The album page may include at least one thumbnail. Here, the album page is output on the first area a and the second area C, but the present application may not be limited thereto. For example, the album page may be output only on the first area a, and the second area B or the third area C may be a target area to which the touch input is applied without outputting information. Here a
mail icon1010 and a
weather icon1020 are displayed in the second area B.
Referring to fig. 11B and 11C, the controller senses a touch input when the touch input is applied to the second region B, and performs a control operation associated with the touch input. In the example of fig. 11B, when a touch input is applied to the
mail icon1010,
information1011 related to a mail is output on the first area a and the second area B. In the example of fig. 11C, when a touch input is applied to mail
weather1020, weather-related
information1021 is output on a first area a and a second area B.
Each of the above elements of the terminal according to various embodiments of the present application may be constituted by one or more components, component names may vary according to the type of the terminal, and the terminal may include at least one of the above elements. Some of the elements may be omitted or additional other elements may also be included. Further, some of the elements of the terminal may be combined and constructed as one entity so as to equally perform the functions of the corresponding elements before the combination.
In the above embodiments, the implementation may be wholly or partially realized by software, hardware, firmware, or any combination thereof. When implemented in software, may be implemented in whole or in part in the form of a computer program product. The computer program product includes one or more computer instructions. When loaded and executed on a computer, cause the processes or functions described in accordance with the embodiments of the invention to occur, in whole or in part. The computer may be a general purpose computer, a special purpose computer, a network of computers, or other programmable device. The computer instructions may be stored in a computer readable storage medium or transmitted from one computer readable storage medium to another, for example, from one website site, computer, server, or data center to another website site, computer, server, or data center via wired (e.g., coaxial cable, fiber optic, Digital Subscriber Line (DSL)) or wireless (e.g., infrared, wireless, microwave, etc.). The computer-readable storage medium can be any available medium that can be accessed by a computer or a data storage device, such as a server, a data center, etc., that incorporates one or more of the available media. The usable medium may be a magnetic medium (e.g., floppy Disk, hard Disk, magnetic tape), an optical medium (e.g., DVD), or a semiconductor medium (e.g., Solid State Disk (SSD)), among others.
Claims (10)
1. A terminal, comprising:
a transparent front cover;
a rear cover for forming a rear surface of the terminal;
a bezel surrounding the transparent front cover and the rear cover to form a space;
the display screen is embedded in the space and exposed through the transparent front cover, the display screen is flat in surface, and the display screen is fixed on the frame through a supporting component;
the transparent front cover comprises a first surface and a second surface;
the first surface for forming a front surface of a terminal, comprising:
the first flat portion is formed on the first side of the substrate,
a first curved portion extending from a first side edge in a width direction of the first flat portion;
a second curved portion extending from a second side edge in the width direction of the first flat portion;
the first curved portion and the second curved portion are opposite, both are curved towards the frame and abut against the inner surface of the edge of the frame to form at least one part of the side surface of the terminal, the inner surface of the edge of the frame abuts against the first curved portion and the second curved portion along an inclined plane, the width of the frame is the same as that of the transparent front cover after the first curved portion and the second curved portion abut against the inner surface of the edge of the frame, and a space gap exists between the first flat portion, the first curved portion and the second curved portion and the display screen;
the second surface is curved simultaneously with the first surface;
the width of the display screen is greater than that of the first flat part, the distance from the display screen to the first flat part is greater than that from a first side edge of the display screen to the first bent part, the distance from the display screen to the first flat part is greater than that from a second side edge of the display screen to the second bent part, and the first side edge of the display screen is opposite to the second side edge of the display screen;
the display area of the display screen comprises a first display area corresponding to the first flat part, a second display area corresponding to the first curved part and a third display area corresponding to the second curved part;
displaying an icon in the second display area or the third display area, the icon being applied with a touch input so that information is displayed at least on the first display area.
2. The terminal of claim 1, wherein the display is secured to the transparent front cover by a first adhesive.
3. The terminal of claim 2, wherein the first adhesive member is an optical glue or an optical tape.
4. The terminal of claim 1, further comprising a support member embedded in the space, the display being secured to the support member by a second adhesive.
5. The terminal of claim 4, wherein the support member and the bezel are fixed or the support member and the bezel are integrated.
6. The terminal as claimed in any one of claims 1, 4 and 5, further comprising a touch panel bent along the second surface of the transparent front cover and fixed to the transparent front cover by a third adhesive member.
7. The terminal of claim 6, wherein the third adhesive is an optical glue or an optical tape.
8. The terminal of claim 6, wherein the display is secured to the touch panel by a fourth adhesive.
9. The terminal of claim 8, wherein the fourth adhesive is an optical glue or an optical tape.
10. The terminal as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein the front cover is bilaterally symmetrical, and a center line of a width of the display screen and a center line of a width of the front cover are the same.
