Abstract
The filter, made with variable dimensions and adapted to the natural shape of the nasal cavity in a human being or other mammal, is designed so that the tip of the cone can be turned inwards and/or have an open end. The outer surface of the cone can be coated with an adhesive substance to hold it in place in the nasal cavity, and its filtering material is of wadding and/or synthetic and/or natural fibres, making it light in weight. The filter is inserted with one finger and removed by blowing the nose or by pulling on a short thread designed for the purpose.
Description
The present invention relates to an anti-pollution nasal filter.
Filters of this type which are already the subject of patents for invention registered by the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) in Paris,
France, under the numbers 2 417 304, WO 86/04249 and WO 96/06657 all have certain major drawbacks, including: - The materials (plastic - flexible or rigid -, metal or interlaced fibers) in which these filters are made , as well as their own forms, clutter the nasal cavities, causing lasting sensory discomfort in the user.
Their composition and their forms notably slow down the passage of the air breathed, as much in inspiration as in expiration, causing a noticeable respiratory discomfort for the user.
The filters affixed inside each of the two nostrils are interconnected by a strip or rod, passing from one nostril to the other through the base of the nose, and therefore particularly visible and unsightly.
If the protective and antiallergenic properties of these filters can be recognized, their manufacturing costs appear, however, relatively high, and can hardly find their true utility except in cases of treatment needs or therapeutic protections.
Compared to the filters described in the documents cited above, the present invention is characterized by its cone shape, the tip of which can be folded inwards (hg. I) and include an additional opening at the extreme tip of said cone, so to optimize the passage of the air breathed, inhaled or exhaled, while doubling the filtering capacity of the ambient pollution contained in the inspired air. The cone itself is of variable dimensions, shaped so as to adapt, very exactly, to the natural forms of the human and / or animal nasal cavities, of the mammal in general.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the filter, extensible and contractile, consists of synthetic and / or natural fibers, wadding and / or all similar materials, specially developed to retain, in their texture, all elements of external pollution contained in the ambient air, harmful to the health of the individual, while in no way interfering with the passage of the air breathed by the user, both at inspiration and at expiration.
According to another characteristic of the invention, this conical nasal filter is developed in such a way and made of special materials such that it is perfectly insensitive to the user, completely invisible once put in place, is easily affixed to at the touch of a finger, it can be removed just as easily by simply wiping, or using a short, invisible thread specially designed and placed for this purpose (Fig. 2).
According to another characteristic of the invention, the external surface (1) of the cone of which this filter is made is coated with an adhesive substance allowing it to be held in place in the nasal cavity, without any discomfort for the user.
According to another characteristic of the invention, this conical nasal filter is disposable after use.
The light, yet effective structure of the texture of these filters, facilitates all forms of manufacturing, industrial and / or artisanal, at low cost, allowing regular use by the greatest number, and protects the individual against all forms of nuisance from ambient air pollution, urban, industrial or other.
