2359759 GOLF CLUB GRIP COVER This invention relates to a golf club grip

cover.

Whilst playing golf it is of utmost importance that a constant swing is kept throughout the game. To achieve this you must try to keep all varying factors constant.

Whilst playing golf during the rain it is plainly obvious that the golf clubs are going to get wet. As rain gathers on the head of the club it runs down the shaft and onto the leather grip where it remains stationary. When a player attempts to take the shot he will need to hold the grip tighter to prevent it slipping from his or her hand.

Holding the club tighter will result in a tense forearm making the wrist stiff and in a constant position causing the player to change their swing or even use a different club to the one he intended on using.

According to the present invention there is simply a sheath made of a water-resistant material and a suitable means of fastening the sheath to make a water tight seal 2_ According with the above example the invention will be explained diagrammatically:- Figure 1 shows the cover; and Figure 2 shows the cover when it is placed over the golf club and fastened to produce the watertight seal.

Referring to the drawing the cover comprises of a tube made of a waterrepellent material to form the sheath 12 and a fastening system comprising of three pieces of Velcro 11. The first two pieces run parallel up the length of the tube, then the third will be placed at an angle less than 180' with the bottom edge so the Velcro, 11 can be wound up the length of the cover. In order to place the cover over the golf club the clearly indicated open end is slid down the club and fastened using the Velcro, 11 at the bottom of the cover. The Velcro 11 should be wound around the full circumference of the shaft 15 twice to ensure a watertight seal.

Claims (4)

Claims

1. A removable cover to prevent water running down the shaft of a golf club onto the grip.

2. A removable cover as claimed in claim 1 that will be primarily used in the golf bag.

3. A removable cover as claimed in claim 1 that could protect the club in general storage.

4. A removable cover as claimed in claim 1 that will have a watertight seal.
