Abstract
A credit-card-sized knife with a grip between the fingers (Fig. 3) and lever 3 which turns around the axis 4 working as a handle in two different positions (second position suitable for using the blade as in general purpose knife with support for thumb (16 Fig. 4), providing secure concealment for the blade 1 in its closed position. The lever also has three boreholes (6 Fig 5) for a spring 5 to fix the blade in those positions. The knife according to it specific shape may include a spanner 9, screwdrivers (flathead 10 and Phillips 11), ruler 13 and wire-cutters (one of the boreholes forms the mouth of the wire-cutters 8).
Description
. KNIFE FOR SELF-DEFENCE
The invention relates to extremely compact knives for self-defence which can be put in to a back pocket or wallet of similar size to credit cards.
Such knives for self-defence are well-known, but have the disadvantages of over-
burdening the carrier in daily function because of excessive size, or because they are too small to be effective.
The object of this invention is to provide a firm grip between fingers and eliminate interception from straight grip to inverted grip in keeping with the techniques of circle and linear fighting. One advantage of this unusual grip and universally-sized is that it is difficult to disamm the carrier by attack.
Accordingly, this invention provides a knife with a grip between the fingers and lever which turns around the axis, working like a handle in two different positions, providing secure concealment for the blade in its closed position.
Also, the invention has features like: wire-cutters, screwdrivers(flathead and Phillips), a spanner and a ruler.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows a side view of the knife in closed position.
Figure 2 shows profile of the knife.
Figure 3 shows the knife in its open position, ready for self-defence.
Figure 4 shows the knife in open position for use as a general purpose blade.
Figure 5 shows the knife having been dismantled.
As shown in Figure I, the knife comprises a blade 1 having two hollows 2 for the fingers going into groove 7 of lever 3, where the recline by limiter 12 prevents damage to the edge of the blade.
The knife has two open positions which are fixed by a spring 5 in to boreholes 6 of the lever 3 mounted around axis 4 as illustrated in Figure 3 and Figure 4.
Figure 4 shows the knife in the open position, suitable for using the blade as a general purpose knife. There is support 16 for thumb and the borehole which holds the knife in this position. At the same time, this borehole forms the mouth of the wire-
cutters 8.
Also the knife has features like: spanner 9,screwdrivers(flathead 10 and Phillips 11) and ruler 13.
The construction consist of four separate parts but for simplicity, in. gure 5 the lever is shown disassembled 3 and 15. The lever can be welded or riveted together.
