Abstract

427,487. Golf-club caddy-bag stands. MOBBS, H., Church Brampton, Northampton. Oct. 24, 1933, No. 29404. [Class 132 (ii)] A golf-bag stand comprises a pair of short legs pivoted to the bag and straddling the bag in the closed position and means which automatically lock the stand against movement when in the open position. In the construction shown, legs 18 connected by a central boss 24 are pivoted on a pin 16 carried by lugs 14 provided on the leather encased metal frame 10 at the mouth of the bag. The boss 24 has shoulders 37 and has a hump 26 provided with shoulders 28 and 29. The shoulders 37 abut against shoulders 38 on the lugs 14 when the legs 18 are in the open position, Fig. 3, and the legs are held locked in that position by a spring-pressed pivoted trigger device 22 with pawl 32 engaging the shoulder 28. In the closed position, Fig. 4, the legs 18 are yieldingly held straddling the bag by a rounded part 33 on the pawl 32 engaging the shoulder 29. Very short legs or studs 40 are provided at the closed end of the bag. According to the Provisional Specification the shoulders 37 can be dispensed with, the pawl 32 then engaging in a slot in the boss 24 to prevent further outward movement of the legs 18.
