Abstract
576,052. Knitting. INTERLOCK PATENTS, Ltd., and BONSER, F. April 15, 1943, No. 6019. [Class 74 (ii)] A rib-knitted fabric has knitted loops in each course or in selected courses and in both faces formed from the same yarn or yarns and each such loop is locked in the manner described in Specification 329,098, [Class 74 (ii)], by the same locking yarn or yarns c. Alternatively a rib fabric may have loops drawn in one direction, for example, cylinder loops, locked by one locking yarn c' and loops drawn in the opposite direction, for example, dial loops, locked by a second yarn c<2>, each of the yarns c<1>, c<2> extending between locked loops as a bar N, P. As described, the fabric is knitted upon a multifeeder cylinder-anddial machine having needles 1, 2 each having two latches, and to hold the loops of ground yarn g and locking yarn c in spaced relation on the needles of either bed, a length of wire 3 is positioned behind the cylinder needles and below the dial needles 2. The wire may be adjustably mounted on the dial cap, and is introduced between the needles at a position at which both sets of needles are retracted. The fabric may be made on flat and straight-bar machines. Specification 422,779 also is referred to in the Complete Specification. Specifications 408,889 and 505,572 are referred to in the Provisional Specification.
