Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent trouble due to mixture of foreign matters at the time of coin supply to improve the reliability by providing a means, which removes foreign matters supplied together with coins, in a separating part which separates coins one by one or in the preceding stage of this separating part. CONSTITUTION:Paper scraps, flue, or the like may be mixed with coins supplied to a money reception and payment hopper 6 by a user. When these foreign matters are supplied together with coins, they are temporarily dropped to a coin saucer 18 by the opening operation of the hopper 6. The coin saucer 18 is connected to a solenoid 20 through a link 21, and the bottom of the coin saucer 18 is formed to a grid whose pitch is shorter than a minimum diameter of coins. Coins dropped from the hopper 6 are separated from foreign matters by oscillation of the solenoid 20, and foreign matters are recovered to a foreign matter saucer 19. Coins from which foreign matters are removed are carried to a feeder 17 according as the foreign matter saucer 19 is moved in the direction of an arrow A by a prescribed mechanism, and these coins are separated and sent to a discriminating sensor one by one.

The coins are transported to the subsequent transport path, foreign objects are detected by a detection means provided in the middle of this transport path, and the foreign objects are removed. As in this known example, foreign objects are detected after separating the inserted coins,
In the removal method, coins may not be completely separated and transported due to foreign objects, resulting in coins remaining in the separating section, or foreign objects may enter the transport path and obstruct the detection means on the transport path. There were drawbacks.

It is transported to a discrimination path 7 equipped with a reject gate 9. The coin discrimination sensor 8 uses a sensor to detect the outer diameter, material, presence or absence of holes, etc. of the coin. Based on the discrimination results, the authenticity of the coin is determined, and the genuine coin is sent to the temporary stack 10 by the reject gate 9. . In addition, coins that are determined to be counterfeit coins are picked up by the ejection gate 9 and returned through the return passage 13. The payment belt 16 is conveyed to the deposit/withdrawal port hopper 6.
will be returned to. -When storing the stacked coins, the storage gate 11 is opened and the stacked coins are stored all at once in the coin storage safe 14 according to the user's designation. When the coins are to be returned as specified by the user, the return gate 12 is opened, and the stacked coins are conveyed from the return path 13 to the payment belt 16 and then to the 1 deposit/withdrawal hopper 6. Here, among the coins inserted into the deposit/withdrawal port hopper 6 by the user,
Paper scraps, cotton dust, etc. may be mixed in. As shown in FIG. 3, the coins thrown in at the same time as the foreign matter are dropped and conveyed to the coin tray by the opening operation of the deposit/withdrawal port hopper 6.
