Abstract

PURPOSE:To contemplate an improvement in the appearance and an increase in the commercial value of a paint by high coherence and to reduce the production cost, by blending specified interferent particles as a component for a pigment. CONSTITUTION:This paint 1 contains, as a component for a pigment, interferent particles 2 in which at least two planes are in parallel with each other and one side thereof is provided with numberless grooves having a width of 0.1-10mu and a depth of 0.1-10mu to form transmission or reflection grating. According to the constitution, coating can be made with high interference color and interference pattern can arbitrarily be controlled to a certain degree so that coating looks attractive, as with a film having coherence. The interferent particles 2 can be obtd. by powdering aluminum or an aluminum-metallized resin film such as polyester, polycarbonate film, etc. by using known colored aluminum particles manufacturing methods.

As a conventionally used paint exhibiting an interference color, there is an interference pearl paint using mica. As shown in Figure 2, this is done by dividing mica a to some extent and making it a component of the pigment, mixing it with other additives in the paint, and painting it on the object to be painted, such as a car body C. . It diffuses appropriately and adheres closely to the surface of the car body C as part of the paint, reflecting light and making it appear as an interference color.

However, with such a paint, a strong interference color could not be obtained because the amount of reflection of mica a itself was low.

Furthermore, since the shape of mica a... is restricted, only a limited interference pattern can be obtained, and mica a... is expensive because it is a natural product, and if it is made into a paint, it will have a negative impact on cost. .

Incidentally, recently, films having interference colors have been developed and are sometimes used as interior parts of automobiles. For example, if a mark representing a company name or car model is shaped using the above-mentioned film and affixed to the interior of the vehicle, the color changes depending on the position from which it is viewed, making it beautiful. The above-mentioned film has a transmission or reflection diffraction grating formed on its negative surface with countless grooves having a width of 0.1 to 10μ and a depth of 0.1 to 10μ, and is inexpensive and Has high coherence.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) The present invention sufficiently covers the weakness of interference color caused by using mica as described above, improves aesthetic appearance and commercial value due to high interference, and reduces costs. The purpose is to provide paints that can be obtained.
