Abstract

Medical electrode esp. for electrocardiography has an electric conductor having a surface suitable for maintaining electric contact with the patient via an electrode and a separate part for connection to the display, th e conductor consisting of a galvanically inert conducting material (I) and a galvanically active conducting material (II), which is present at least on the surface. (I) pref. consists of a non-conducting binder (e.g. plastics, rubber or ceramic) rendered conducting by dispersed C, pref. in an amt. of 20-50, esp. 25-30 wt. %, whilst (II) is a metal, which can be in the form of particles embedded in (the surface of) (I) or on its surface. The metal pref. is Ag is an amt. of 0.7-30, esp. 15 wt. % or Zn in an amt. of ca 30 wt. % (I) pref. is based on cast plastics.
