Ishtar Gate animals by Dick Osseman

These are some of the animal panels from the complex at the Babylon Ishtar (Astarte, Esther in some other languages) Gate. They are wonderful, is all I can say. It is from 575 BC, by King Nebuchadnezzar II. I also understand that to see the gate in a restored version you should travel to Berlin, Germany.

I give them a sub-gallery because I add lots of high-resolution (in my orginals, too big to show here) pictures in 2019 and the total grows too large.

The pictures from 2019 (the date is in their name) are somewhat larger than the earlier ones, and their colopur is probably as true as I could manage (and better than some earlier ones). I tried to group those of each animal, but have not finished.
