Grimes Previews 2 New Songs: Listen

Grimes has previewed a pair of new songs. She describes the first as “the cheesy love song i was talking about that i don’t like but everyone else likes” and the second as an “ethereal chav jam that’s like ... a cyberpunk interpretation of the bajirao mastani movie.” Check them out below.

The tracks are presumably pencilled in for the new album Grimes has been teasing (and, occasionally, unteasing: “welp no music any time soon after all... music industry is trash,” she wrote earlier this year in a since-deleted Instagram post). Grimes’ iTunes indicates the songs teased are probably “adore u (beautiful game)” and “4 æm,” both noted on the prospective album tracklist she shared last month.

Grimes’ last full-length, Art Angels, came out in 2015. She recently featured on Loona yyxy’s “love4eva.”
