Trivia[]

  • Surskit is the first known Pokémon to be Bug/Water-type and was the only Pokémon to have this typing prior to Generation VII with the introduction of Wimpod and Dewpider lines which are Bug and Water-type Pokémon.
    • The Dewpider line has this type in reverse, as it is Water/Bug type instead.
    • Due to this, they are the only Pokémon to have double vulnerability to the Net Ball.
  • Surskit is the first non-Fossil Pokémon that has Water as its secondary type.
  • Surskit is one of the seven missing Pokémon in the Emerald Version.
  • Skrelp, along with Surskit, are the only Water-type Pokémon to lose its Water type upon evolution.
    • However, unlike Skrelp, Surskit had a unique type combination at the time of its creation.

Origin[]

Surskit is based on the water strider (Also known as pond skater), an insect from the family Gerridae, that glides across the surface of water.

Etymology[]

Surskit is a combination of surf (referring to its Water type) or surface (referring to the surface of water), and skitter (to move swiftly and quietly).
