KFRO Relaunches With Oldies
After running programming from Galaxy Nostalgia Network as filler while rebuilding the station the past few years, Scott Rice’s RCA Broadcasting has flipped 1370 KFRO/95.7 K239CT Longview TX to 60s/70s based Oldies.
The flip took place at 9:00pm on Sunday evening to coincide with the 87th anniversary of the station’s original license being granted. Launching jockless, the station intends to evolve into a Full Service presentation with many nods to the station’s history including the return of its longtime “Voice of Longview” positioning. Rice told KLTV-TV the station will feature, “stuff that Baby Boomers like because I wanted to keep a nostalgic feel on the station.”
