Renault F1 Team Headquarters - Ridge and Partners LLP

Ridge delivered this original building under a design and construct contract in 1991, with the last project completing in 2019. Since 1991, and working for different incumbent teams, Ridge has provided a multidiscipline service to various stages of the site’s development, including wind tunnel, test rigs, manufacturing and design.

Recently Ridge was tasked with full design and delivery of a 1,500sqm two-storey extension to the front of the building to accommodate a new Research & Development (R&D) suite and allow for improvement and refurbishment to the existing reception, kitchen and staff restaurant.

The new R&D suite includes an ISO Class 7 hydraulics clean room, an electronics lab, a sub-assembly suite and a new inspection department, which includes X-ray equipment.

To facilitate the extension, 3,500m³ rock was required to be excavated.

Analysis of the existing car park identified space to create an additional 100 car parking spaces which was created with re-landscaping.
