A flyover is a ceremonial flight by a plane or group of planes. flyovers are often because of important events or celebrations, although more rarely they are because of memorials, like the 9/11 memorial planes. The planes commonly fly in the colors of the country they are in. They are most often seen in the United Kingdom and other commonwealth countries.
