I just wanted to tell you that the final warning is very different from the only warning templates; the description for the only warning is a strong, first[,] and only warning to the editor to stop what they are doing. [The warning] should only be used in extreme cases. (from Wikipedia:User talk page warnings.) So basically, the final warning template is a template for users/IPs who have continuously vandalised (or other things that are against Wikipedia's rules). They're supposed to be the first and only template they get before blocking. [I'm very sorry if I sound annoying or if I sound like a snob or know-it-all :( ]

I know, but in my notes subpage, I use the only warning before reporting the vandal because only warning is like level 5 and once they vandalize again after the only warning, then I report to the VIP. Thanks. thetree284 (talk) 21:46, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Only warning is not necessarily the next step after a level 4 warning (I've done the same mistake in my past). Once you go through level 1-4 of the warnings, level 5 (or 4im) isn't needed, and the user/IP can be taken to an admin's attention. ⯎ Aster alee ⯎ 21:54, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
