Served from January 3, 1975 to January 3, 2007. Served as chair of the Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on International Relations. One of the House managers for the impeachment proceedings against Harry E. Claiborne, judge of the United States District Court for Nevada; House manager for the impeachment proceedings against President William Clinton in 1998.
