Logbook, 1883 Aug.-1887 Aug., of the steam yacht Viking, recording pleasure trips and excursions made by the yacht's owners, George S. Scott, George F. Baker, F.W. Pearsall, and H.C. Fahnestock, and, after 1884, trips by Samuel Tilden. Entries note the ship's course, sailing conditions, distances traveled, velocity of the tide, and accompanying remarks on landings, the boarding of passengers, maintenance of the yacht, etc. The final entries in the volume are for summer of 1887, when Mr. R.H. White, of Boston, was the Viking's owner.
