Chao Rescue

Chao Rescue is a feature that appears in the remastered version of Sonic Generations in Sonic X Shadow Generations. Here, Classic and Modern Sonic can rescue Chao who are scattered across the various stages.

Description[]

During Sonic's birthday, a mysterious entity known as the Time Eater, appeared in the sky and proceeded to suck all of Sonic's friends into Time Holes, including the Chao who were in attendance.^[1]

After completing Act 2 of Green Hill, a pop-up will appear, telling the player to search for the various Chao hidden in the stages. Once found, the Chao temporarily follow Classic and Modern Sonic through the levels before disappearing and will then be seen floating around the stage entrances.

There are a total of fifty-four different Chao to find with three Chao per Act, which can all be viewed in the Collection Room on the now-viewable bookshelf, which is also used to display hints on where each Chao is located.

The listing of the two different types for each Chao is based on the breeding mechanics seen in the Chao Garden. The first type is what type the Chao is in during its first phase while the second type is the type the Chao evolves into for its second phase.

• Chao Rescue is very similar to a mechanic in Sonic Advance 3 where the player must find Chao through numerous levels.
