The Doom Morph (ドゥームモーフDūmu Mōfu?) is a transformation that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Doom Power used by Shadow the Hedgehog that allows him to transform into a Doom-influenced creature of Chaos energy and travel across Corruption-infused surfaces.
Appearance[]
When using Doom Morph, Shadow transforms into a dark ball of Chaos energy similar in appearance to the Black Arms with red patterns that vaguely resembles an octopus like creature. In this form, Shadow now has eleven tentacles, which surround a central buccal cavity.
His mantle, features five blank red eyes on each side. The head curves downward at the front, so it is not perfectly round, making it resemble other types of Black Arms, such as Black Oak.
Overview[]
In Shadow Generations, Doom Morph is one of many Doom Powers that Shadow the Hedgehog can utilize to his advantage. During gameplay, players can find Morph Balls located near Corruption surfaces; touching one automatically activates Shadow's Doom Morph transformation. In this form, Shadow can freely swim across Corruption surfaces (including on walls or ceilings) and can boost to perform a dash attack. When targeting Morph Balls, Shadow's Homing Attack instead extends a long tentacle to reach the target and pull him towards it. If the button is held down, Shadow swings underneath before letting go to launch forwards; releasing the button while directly under the Morph Ball will make him launch straight upwards through it instead. Doom Morph automatically deactivates when Shadow touches a non-Corrupted surface.
Doom Morph is the fourth Doom Power to be unlocked, with it becoming available after Sunset Heights. After it is unlocked, Doom Morph can be enabled in stages and in sections of White Space where a Morph Ball is present.
Powers and abilities[]
Being infused with Doom Powers, Shadow, in this form, is able to emit a red ink which he can use, similar to an Enerbeam, to latch onto and swing off special targets to get across pits. Additionally, he is able to latch onto walls or ceilings and move along them, akin to the Pink Spikes.
Shadow's Doom Morph, in which Shadow doesn't bear a form not closely identical to his base character is similar to other transformations such as Trip's Dragon Form and Gemerl's Ultimate Gemerl.
Although Mephiles the Dark doesn't possess Doom Powers himself, he is able to assume a similar form during his boss battle.
