Halo Squadron
Halo Squadron was a patrol squadron of the New Republic Defense Force that was under the command of Lieutenant Zaycker Asheron, with Flight Sergeant Dina Dipurl as their subordinate.[1] In 21 ABY,[2] the squadron consisted of the gunship Starheart as its command ship and three X-wing starfighters. During the New Republic Era, the squadron encountered the freighter of Dathan, Miramir, and Rey as they were attacked by the Sith Eternal. After the pilots shot down the three ships of the hunters, the freighter was brought aboard the Starheart and the parents were debriefed by Asheron and Dipurl. They were sent on their way. Shortly afterward, the pair of pilots returned on patrol, but were killed in action with more Sith forces.[1]
Dipurl later filed a report, which was acccesed by New Republic pilot Shriv Suurgav at the behest of General Lando Calrissian, who showed it to Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. It launched their search for Ochi of Bestoon, and they visited Commander Xarah Blacwood at the Adelphi New Republic staging outpost, who told them that the Flight Sergeant was unavailable. Skywalker and Calrissian then met with Suurgav in hangar seven, who gave them the flight recording of Halo Squadron's battle.[1]
