Biography[]
Training on Coruscant[]
Around 233 BBY,[7] the Jedi younglings Lys Solay, Kai Brightstar, and Nubs were training together in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.[2]
The three younglings were stationed on another Jedi temple on the forest planet Tenoo. They were transported to the planet by the young pilot Nash Durango and her droid RJ-83. However, they were contacted by Hap, the owner of Hap's Sap Tap, who told them that his café was being raided by pirates led by Taborr Val Dorn. With Durango's help, the Jedi were able to stop the pirates and save the café.[8]

Solay was a female Pantoran with blue skin and blue eyes. She also had facial tattoos, which represented her Pantoran heritage.[4] Solay was Force-sensitive and had a special connection with animals particularly the wildlife of Tenoo.[4]

Behind the scenes[]
- "She's super smart. She's quick-witted. She's super acrobatic, and she always lands on two feet. She's super observant. And I love how she puts people and creatures before herself and is always willing to help out."
- ―Lys Solay's voice actor Juliet Donenfeld describing her character[9]
Lys Solay is a character that was developed for the Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures television series where Solay is voiced by Juliet Donenfeld.[10] Donenfield auditioned for the role of Solay during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to lockdown conditions, she used her father's closet as an improvised recording studio. Donenfeld likened her character Solay's appearance and personality to General Leia Organa, noting that Solay's two space buns were patterned after Organa's hairstyle and that Solay shared Organa's willingness to help others.[9]
Donenfeld also said that she and other young viewers could relate to Solay's love for animals.[9] Donenfeld and co-star Jamaal Avery Jr., who voiced Kai Brightstar, said that the dynamic between the three main characters Brightstar, Solay and Nubs were meant to teach children the importance of teamwork, friendship, and resolving differences. Avery Jr said that Solay's role in the series was to remind Brightstar that it was alright to accept help from others.[9]
During a video interview with Star Wars Explained host Alex Damon, Michael Olson revealed that Lys Solay's traits were based on his daughter.[11]
