Michaela Coel
- "One line but I loved it because it's Star Wars, and John Boyega's bloody lovely."
- ―Michaela Coel[2]
Michaela Coel (born Michaela-Moses Ewuraba O Boakye-Collison, on October 1, 1987) is a British actress and screenwriter[1] who portrayed a Resistance tactical officer in Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi.[3]
The actress spent a few days on the UK set of The Last Jedi filming her role. In an interview prior to the release of the film, Coel spoke about her role and refused to call it a cameo, saying that she merely sat on a spaceship and said just three words, and was convinced that her role would end up on the cutting room floor.[4] However, Coel enjoyed the experience because it was Star Wars.[2]
