Ringo was a clone trooper who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Ringo was part of Torrent Company, a unit within the 501st Legion. During the war Ringo and Torrent Company were sent to defend the planet Ereesus after it was invaded by Separatist forces. Around 21 BBY, Ringo and the 501st, alongside other Republic battlegroups, invaded the planet Umbara. Immediately after landing, the clone troopers were attacked by the native Umbarans. Making their way to the Umbaran capital city, Ringo and the 501st had to take a road that had been mined by the Umbarans. Ringo and another trooper, Oz, stepped on a mine, and they were killed in the following explosion.

Republic forces on Umbara
Born and raised on the planet Kamino as a clone of the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett,[1] the clone trooper who took the name Ringo served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars.[3] Around 21 BBY,[2] Ringo was a member of Torrent Company,[4] a unit within the 501st Legion, which was commanded by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker[3] and Clone Captain CT-7567, nicknamed "Rex." Around the same time, Ringo and Torrent Company were dispatched to the planet Ereesus. There, the clones assisted the Ereesus Planetary Security Forces in defending the world against a Separatist invasion. The Republic soon suffered a major setback, however, when a squad of local troops and their clone trooper liaison, Oz, were captured by the Separatists.[4]
Ringo and fellow trooper Jesse joined Captain Rex and local militiamen Lieutenant Sollaw ap-Orwien and Corporal Dafyd at the Republic's forward operating base, where ap-Orwien ascertained several key pieces of intelligence simply by watching a Separatist holorecording of the prisoners, including Sergeant Palola—as they were both Lorrdians, ap-Orwien was able to interpret Palola's subtle mimics of communication, which went unnoticed by his droid captors. To verify his ability for the clones, ap-Orwien left the room while Rex gave Ringo and Jesse hypothetical orders as a test of the Lorrdians. Upon returning, ap-Orwien was able to obtain the orders from Dafyd, who had stayed in the room with the clones and overheard Rex's commands, without the two of them speaking. With the intelligence learned from Palola, Rex assembled a team that included Ringo to rescue the captured squad. Upon arriving at the Separatist facility where the prisoners were being held, Ringo and Jesse used explosives to open the main doors. The team fought off several BX-series droid commandos and successfully rescued the captured squad. Ringo and the others also took the cranial unit of a T-series tactical droid before returning to base.[4]
Sometime during the war, the 501st was dispatched to reclaim the former Republic-allied planet Umbara. After landing on the surface of Umbara, Ringo and the 501st immediately engaged the native Umbarans, who had aligned themselves with the Separatists. Although the clone troopers took heavy casualties in the engagement, Ringo and his brothers secured a landing zone for the Republic troops. However, shortly afterward, Skywalker was recalled to the Republic capital, Coruscant, and replaced by Jedi Master Pong Krell,[3] a Besalisk known for the high casualty rates of clone troopers under his command.[5]
Krell overrode Skywalker's original plan to capture the Umbaran capital by ordering Ringo and the 501st to stage a full frontal assault on the heavily fortified city. Finding the main road—the fastest way to the city—Ringo and his comrades were ordered to proceed toward the capital. However, unbeknownst to the clones, the Umbarans had mined the road. Ringo and fellow trooper Oz stepped on one such mine and were killed in the resulting explosion.[3]

Ringo was impressed when Sollaw ap-Orwien was able to learn just by communicating silently with Dafyd all the orders that Rex and given to he and Jesse as a test of the Lorrdians' speechless language. Ringo was also the first clone to laugh over ap-Orwien's imitation of Captain Rex.[4] While serving on Umbara, Ringo was unable to detect a mine on a road, which resulted in his death when he stepped on it.[3] Like his clone imprint, Ringo stood 1.83 meters tall.[1]

During the Umbaran battle, Ringo donned Phase II clone trooper armor with the blue markings of his unit, the 501st Legion.[3]

Ringo served as a minor character in "Darkness on Umbara," the seventh episode of the fourth season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series.[6] "Darkness on Umbara" aired on October 28, 2011.[7] He was also mentioned in the episode's corresponding online guide on StarWars.com.[6] In 2013, Ringo was featured in Speaking Silently, a short story written by Tom Hodges and published in Star Wars Insider 139.[4]
