Imperators II

Assistance Thanks for correcting the format on the Lula Sooger quote I added, my coding and formatting still isn't the best after all these years on Wikia. Think you could touch up the Quote on the Sturg Ganna page I heavily expanded? Unsigned comment by Lord High Executioner (talk • contribs).

  • No worries; and the Ganna one only had an extra pair of unneeded ' at the beginning. Imperators II(Talk) 15:33, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

Courtesy[]

Since I noticed you were the CA author of Talvaria system I thought it best to notify you as a courtesy and explain my edit to the page. Twinkle Twinkle attributes the "Talvor system" to Scoundrel's Luck which only features the Talvarian species. It also places the Talvor system in the Mahrusha sector, just in case further alterations are needed to bring the page back up to spec. I'm carefully working my through fixing the Twinkle Twinkle page and will let you know if I come across any further oddities which may cause concern. I hope this is helpful. Inquiry[]

Just saw Index:Jasper crystal pop up. Is there any documentation or discussion on how to best go about creating these types of pages? Didn't know we could add page numbers for citations! Labyrinthine G0B-L1N (talk) 09:35, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Moons of, etc.[]

Sorry, I don't really understand your edit comment. Forest moon of Endor, Garbage moon of Maher, etc. all orbit their namesake even if it's not specified to be a planet exactly, although it's more than obviously intended to be to the regular reader. In this case the "6" notation also corresponds to a moon, as Story Group has indicated they prefer such notation 99.99% of the time... Isn't it a given, I'm sure the author intends it to be as that is how any reader would interpret it. I've never struck this on other wikias (or elsewhere for that matter) before, so I'm a bit confused. Labyrinthine G0B-L1N (talk) 12:04, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

  • Like I said, per the ambiguity inherent in this type of naming scheme, I don't think we should be doing any assumptions until we have a confirmation. We're only treating the Garbage Moon of Maher as orbiting Maher because we have indication of Maher independently existing; and of course same goes for Endor. (The numeral is also not really an argument since there are quite a few planets using an Arabic numeral instead of a Roman one.) Imperators II(Talk) 20:17, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

??? grid coord[]

I started adding "???" to locations only if it is used by TEAOC as the official grid coord (explained by Jason Fry as maintaining the "here be dragons" aspect of certain objects that are unlikely to ever be given a definitive grid coord by the Atlas, but have noticed status articles don't seem to include it such as Explume Minor. I figured if it's good enough for TEAOC then it should be included as it immediately informs readers that the general placement is known but unlocatable by traditional means but I'm hesitant to continue doing so if users are just going to constantly remove or revert it. Is there some sort of policy against this as I'm unsure why "N/A" from TEAOC seems to used but not "???". I only stumbled across this due to Category:Locations with invalid grid coordinates but they're not really invalid at all. Labyrinthine G0B-L1N (talk) 09:13, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

  • I don't really see a point in listing ??? - all it says is that we don't know a celestial body's grid square, which is the same as not listing it at all. Yes, it does indicate that an object was placed somewhere by the Online Companion - but so does the rest of the information of its article, i.e., the referencing in its infobox and its Sources section. As for N/A, as far as I'm aware, that directly translates to the Freestanding subsectors, which we notate as such. Imperators II(Talk) 09:27, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
    • It's not the same as leaving it blank as it's not that we don't know. It's that Lucasfilm doesn't know and that is the definitive ruling by them. By leaving it blank we are not being 100% encyclopedic. It also makes it difficult when sorting planets we don't currently know vs. planets that are unknown from an in-universe perspective at the time the maps exist in-universe. N/A occasionally does indicate freestanding subsectors when used in the sector column but when used in the grid column it's to denote celestial objects outside of the galactic, such as Ygziir, and now Kamino per Star Wars: Complete Locations, New Edition. Labyrinthine G0B-L1N (talk) 09:09, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
      • "Lucasfilm doesn't know" is an assumption that I'm not really seeing the basis for. The grid square for these locations was not revealed to us by putting a "???" in the grid square column, which I really don't see as being any different than their grid square not being revealed to us by any other means. As for sorting, neither the Appendix of the Atlas nor its Online Companion have been presented as in-universe documents, so dragging in the in-universe vs. out-of-universe distinction here is similarly misplaced. Rick The door technician[]

Why is rick the door technician super-semi-protected? I am just asking because I would like to add several things. Have a great day. Unsigned comment by Ignisumvuthi (talk • contribs).

  • The article was protected due to it being a vandalism target. What were the additions that you had in mind? Imperators II(Talk) 11:43, 12 March 2025 (UTC)

Syruss[]

Hi, it's because the Rebellion era started in 0 BBY. So the 0 ABY-4 ABY box is a bit too restrictive. Best, Hk 47 (talk) 13:19, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
