WookieeProject Tales of the Jedi

"Until the exploits of Vos, Dooku, Kenobi et al during the Clone Wars in Republic, the old Tales of the Jedi stories were simply the best Star Wars stories ever."
―Rogueish[1]

WookieeProject Tales of the Jedi is a project composed of a group of Wookieepedians dedicated to making sure that articles stemming from the Tales of the Jedi comic series are brought to Featured article and/or Good article quality.

The project was started in the late summer months of 2007 by Greyman, and through the efforts of several dedicated users, almost two dozen featured articles and eight good articles were created before the project was even three months old. Just like in the early days, our main goal is to make sure Wookieepedia is a reliable and excellent source of information about any and/or all articles from the Tales of the Jedi saga. Though it is realized that not every Tales of the Jedi article will be able to be made into an FA or GA, the goal for those articles is still to make them as complete and comprehensive as possible.

If you would like to contribute to the project, feel free to take a look at what we've done, or ask questions in the forum. If you decide that this is the place for you, and that you'd like to help us out, then please sign your name using three tildes (~~~) at the bottom of the page under the section "Writers and editors".

Instructions[]

Writers[]

  1. Write balanced and without POV.
  2. Do not add any speculation to an article.
  3. Source all information in articles (infoboxes, succession boxes, paragraphs, etc.) with either reference tags or self-sourcing paragraphs. Please refer to Wookieepedia:Sourcing for complete instructions on how to add citations to articles.
  4. Write about whatever interests you, but try and help out with the current main focus as well.
  5. Try and focus on one or two projects at a time, thereby making sure not too many articles are added to the "Works in progress" section.
  6. If the Manual of Style and Layout Guide are prohibiting you from contributing your best, please post a start a new forum thread in our discussion area. The editors will help you fix any problems or concerns.
  7. Reference information by citing individual comic issues. Please do not cite using simply the story arc and/or TPB. If you are unable to source by individual issues, please contact a project editor and/or start a new forum thread in our discussion area, and you'll receive help as soon as possible.

Just like everyone else, we have rules too.

Editors[]

  1. Make sure articles have flawless grammar and spelling.
  2. Fix articles to comply with the Manual of Style and Layout Guide.
  3. Fix templates and excessive links.
  4. Make sure all information is sourced per our sourcing policy.
  5. Make sure all quotes and pictures are properly formatted, attributed, and sourced.
  6. Search for new items for the "Appearances" and "Sources" sections of an article.

General rules for both writers & editors[]

  1. Get to know your fellow project-members so that you can get a sense of the Project's attitude and each member's opinions on what should be merged, expanded, and so on. This will allow you to work better with the team, especially on major projects.
  2. Attempt to take part in discussions and debates relating to Tales of the Jedi articles, including merges, citations, other references, image issues, splits, cleanup, formatting, and expansion.
  3. Reduce trivial information, speculation, point of view, and anything else that violates Wookieepedia's article guidelines.
  4. Within human-reason, attempt monitor all TotJ articles for violations of anything listed in the above two parts.
  5. Make sure you cite all information you add, that you follow the Wookieepedia's guidelines in addition to style and layout, and follow the discussions and agreements established by both the Project and wider site.
  6. Take part in bringing numerous articles to Good Article and Featured Article status.
  7. For articles that cannot reach either GA or FA status, still attempt to make these articles as complete as possible — remember, the goal of this project is to make Wookieepedia a readily reliable source for all things related to Tales of the Jedi, no matter how large or small.

What not to do[]

  1. Do not add unsourced information to any article.
  2. Do not engage in edit wars. These types of conflicts will only damage both your reputation and that of WP:TOTJ. If you require assistance and/or guidance in helping deal with something such as this, please contact your fellow Project-members for help.
  3. Do not add original research, speculation, point of view, vandalism, or patent nonsense.
