In 111, the Zoroniss planned to make an army to take over Earth by laying their eggs in 20,000 Roman soldiers. The Tenth Doctor, Gabby Gonzalez, and Cindy Wu faced the Zoroniss in an imperial conclave on the road to Parthia. During the conflict, a word-rider entered the Doctor's body.
