Anura

Anura was the goddess of the Silurians.

Biography[]

In Silurian mythology, Anura stole the gift of knowledge from the Dark Ones. (AUDIO: Whatever Remains) She once encountered the Kaveetch. (AUDIO: Truth and Bone)

In a Silurian outpost beneath Dorset, Vastra and Jenny Flint discovered a holy site from even before Vastra's time which depicted Anura as a "flame figure" being chased by the Dark Ones over a mountain.

Vastra took a relic from the site upon the death of its guardian, Batraxus. (AUDIO: Whatever Remains) The relic held the bones and consciousness of Anura, which she used to defeat a troop of invading Sontarans. (AUDIO: Truth and Bone)

She possessed Vastra and started to regain strength. She told Edith Renner to buy the relevant land to gain power. She ordered the death of Jenny and Strax. She wanted to purge the planet of Apes and start anew. She used Franz Albrecht Stuart's oil to help in this. Vella wondered why Anura didn't kill her, as she wanted Vella to witness the start of the new world. She transferred into Vella. (AUDIO: Rulers of Earth)
