A "coda" is a piece added at the end of the general material in question as a concluding event, remark or section. Several codas has been made in Doctor Who and its associated spin-offs.
Due to Radio Times cancelling their line of comic stories, Gary Russell's original intended 1997 story Deceptions [+]Loading...["Deceptions (unproduced comic story)"] was derailed, and he had to replace it with the story Coda [+]Loading...["Coda (comic story)"], abruptly ending his Eighth Doctor storyline.
The 2012 webcast P.S. [+]Loading...["P.S. (webcast)"] was envisioned by the crew as a coda to the TV story The Angels Take Manhattan [+]Loading...["The Angels Take Manhattan (TV story)"].
Due to the original version of the Fourth Doctor TV story Shada [+]Loading...["Shada (TV story)"] being incomplete and unaired in 1980, the story had multiple attempts at a remake, latest being in 2017 with animation, with Tom Baker returning to his role in a live coda filmed as an extra to the now-finished story.
The final short story in Arcbeatle Press's SIGNET series was titled Coda [+]Loading...["Coda (short story)"], released in 2023, which itself led into the anthology book The Book of the Snowstorm.
Despite being released in 2024 as the second story in the Dark Gallifrey audio series, The War Master [+]Loading...["The War Master (audio story)"] was written as a coda to the series, seemingly taking place post-series.
In 2024, Arcbeatle Press released a short webcast entitled Cwej: Down the Middle Coda [+]Loading...["Cwej: Down the Middle Coda (webcast)"], which acted as a bridge between the anthology Down the Middle and the next one.
In 2024, the eighth and final story in the audio series Once and Future was released, entitled Coda - The Final Act [+]Loading...["Coda - The Final Act (audio story)"], it acted as a wrap-up of the rest of the series which had been released throughout 2023 as a celebration of the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who.
