Elizabeth Stride (ca. 1844-1888) was a Whitechapel prostitute who was murdered by Jack the Ripper on the same night as Catherine Eddowes. (PROSE: The Pit)
Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]
Prior to her murder, she used to drink in the Red Tavern. (AUDIO: The Wax Princess)
After a night of singing and drinking gin, Long Liz and her friend Josie parted company at 12:30 am on 30 September. P.C. Smith saw the 44-year-old woman alive within half an hour of her death walking with a fair-haired man toward her home in Spitalfields. The man who offered to walk her home was Mac'atyde in a shimmer suit. Going down Berner Street at 12:45 am, he led her to Dutfield's Yard, a dead end where he shot a nerve paralytic into her neck. He then used her fear to harvest pheromones and the minerals produced by her kidneys.
Legacy[[edit] | [edit source]]
Amy Pond learned about Lizzie Stride in school. The guide in a 2011 Ripper tour named her as the third canonical victim. (COMIC: Ripper's Curse)
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- References to her in the novels The Pit and Matrix don't identify her by name. Ripper's Curse provides a lot of information that puts details in the earlier novels in context.
