Matter guns were weapons used by the Helicrons. At least one was kept in the Cheviot Hills site of the Vault.
According to director Vanessa Hardcastle, a matter gun was responsible for the disintegrated of Patricia and Zufran, but due to the duo's lack of families, and that the "relevant procedures" had been carried out, the deaths weren't reported. This prompted Patsy, from P.R.O.B.E., to send Giles and Archie to investigate the site. (PROSE: A Worthy Successor)
