James MacFarlane was a journalist who shared several adventures with the Eighth Doctor.
James travelled to Victorian Edinburgh in the 1890s to investigate rumours regarding vampires. He encountered the Eighth Doctor there and they uncovered a den of vampires but found they were innocent. In actuality, a Bowship had been mentally influencing the people of Edinburgh. The Doctor convinced it the war was over, restoring the city. (AUDIO: The Scent of Blood)
Later, James met the Doctor in Cardiff. (AUDIO: The Code of Flesh)
He met the Doctor again in Antarctica during the 1900s. (AUDIO: The Teeth of Ice)
All of these stories, featuring MacFarlane as the perspective character, are narrated by Dan Starkey. Thus, he is always voiced by Starkey.

If a medium is not mentioned, then this incarnation did not have companions who were original to that medium; it does not mean that this Doctor failed to appear in that medium. |
