- ️Thu Mar 22 2012
Nicholas "Nick" Landis (born September 28th, 1988), better known amongst the internet as Lanipator (pronounced lan-ee-pah-TOR) is the creator of Yu Yu Hakusho Abridged, a member of TeamFourStar, the group behind Dragon Ball Z Abridged, and was also affiliated with Channel Awesome, with his show Outside the Otaku. He was also hired by Hi-Rez Entertainment to provide the voice of Rama in Smite.
He was one of the original participants in The War of the Abridged Series Creators, which started when he hung up on DAN GREEN (who was calling from the the Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series 2nd anniversary party). This was also the point where Lanipator coined the phrase "Lanipwnd".
He has also done Let's Plays for the following games:
- Amnesia: The Dark Descent
- The Justine DLC
- Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs
- Rise of Nightmares
- Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi
He's also got a on-going Tabletop gaming show called Role With Me.

Provides examples of:
- Acting for Two:
- In Dragon Ball Z Abridged, there are several characters who are played by Lanipator, who end up taking to each other in a scene more often than not. The most prevalent examples due to their frequent appearances are Vegeta, Krillin, Piccolo, and Mr. Popo.
- In Final Fantasy VII Machinabridged, he plays both the celtic cat Cait Sith and Reeve Tuesti, which is Significant Double Casting, since they are both the same person, with Reeve controlling Cait remotely.
- Annoying Laugh: He's clearly good at it, take
a listen
to his laugh for Rama in Smite.
- Atomic F-Bomb:
- Conservation of Ninjutsu: Discussed in his Berserk review, though dubbed Dynasty Warriors Syndrome therein.
- I Just Like Saying the Word: If you watch enough of his content with TeamFourStar or otherwise, one gets the impression that Lani has a strange love of the word "cornucopia" (i.e. a horn of plenty) to describe a large group of things.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: His original Amnesia LP was this before March 2016. It was among the large amount of gaming content that was removed from blip.tv, and it was never uploaded to Youtube, but Lani uploaded the episodes to Youtube after a fan sent him his archive of the videos.
- No Indoor Voice: His alternate persona, Magnus, because he's EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEME!
- Man of a Thousand Voices: He provides voices for five Abridged Series:
- Yu Yu Hakusho Abridged, mostly a solo effort with help from his then girlfriendnote and the occasional guest voice actor
- Dragon Ball Z Abridged, as Krillin, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Popo.
- It might be easier to say he voices Christopher Sabat. And Krillin.
- He voices Christopher Sabat voicing Brian Drummond.
- Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series, as Lector.
- Naruto: The Abridged Comedy Fandub Spoof Series Show, as Zabuza.
- Kämpfer Abridged, as Kämpfer Mikoto and Strangled Stray Dog.
- Hellsing Ultimate Abridged as The Major.
- He also does a pretty good impression of Marlon Brando.
- He voices Rama in Smite. May also double as Playing Against Type, since Rama is very calm and quiet. Except when he laughs.
- He voices multiple characters in RWBY, both playing for and against type: the enraged Ramen Shop Owner in Volume 5 sounds almost exactly like Abridged Piccolo, while also playing the much quieter and sinister Yuma.
- Parody Sue: His custom character Spudz from his Ultimate Tenkaichi LP. He's constantly giving him absurd backstories like being the bastard child of Goku and Mr Popo (and somehow, Piccolo) and being half-dragon.
- The Scream: Seems to be a specialty of his. Two of the characters he's played have had extended, epic screams. He's also delivered one while not in character (see Atomic F-Bomb above).
- Shout-Out: A number of them. Like in his Let's Play of Justine, he tells his character to "Wake up. Grab your brush and put on a little make-up."
- Shut Up, Hannibal!: In his Amnesia: The Dark Descent Let's Play.
Alexander: Do you truly see no good in me, or evil in Agrippa?
Lanipator: No, all I see is your wang! Put some clothes on!
- Training Montage: Lanipator works out to Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by Daft Punk just to build up the strength to lift Guts' sword.
