Yūichi Nakamura - TV Tropes
- ️Mon Jan 06 2014
If I don't have to describe my page, I won't. If I have to do it, I'll make it quick.
Yūichi Nakamura (born February 20, 1980 in Aji, Japan) is a Japanese voice actor who tends to play Jerks, usually with hearts of gold underneath. He can also, however, stray into just plain Jerkass territory. How much this is dialed up to depends on the role. Early in his career he was frequently cast as snarky or sullen young men, but with time he's started to gravitate toward older roles, usually of cool/badass characters. His voice range is flexible enough to do most anything from gruff characters to crossdressers, sounding convincing even when he pitches his voice an octave higher than his normal tone.
Not to be confused with screen actor Yuichi Nakamura, though interestingly, the two friended each other because of them sharing the same name with one kanji in a different spelling. Eventually, he also managed to dub him over in Season 2 Episode 12 of Pop Team Epic.
Often works with Tomokazu Sugita. Him and Sugita also host a program at AT-X called Tokyo Encounter. And with Saori Hayami, with whom portrayed the relationship between the protagonist and a girl whose love for him is unrequited, at least four times. Also with Yōko Hikasa whom he nicknamed Baba due to her being the oldest female during the Inu × Boku SS casting.
Ah, I see I've done a lot of roles of culture as well.

Ironic, isn't it? When I grant you these tropes, one can do nothing but ruin their lives.
- Brother–Sister Incest: Whenever he voices the main character in an incest-filled anime, it is most likely that he will end up with his younger sibling like in Oreimo and The Testament of Sister New Devil.
- Casting Gag:
- Kintoki Sakata in spades, as Nakamura and Tomokazu Sugita, the voice of Gintoki, are best friends in real life.
- Joshua Radcliffe come off as this. Looking similar to Tomoya Okazaki? Check. Surrounded by Gundam look-alikes? Check. Fighting creatures created by despair (which makes him an Anti-Hazama for the sake of Irony)? Check. Having an orange-haired younger sister who sounds like Tomoyo Sakagami from CLANNAD? Check. Having a love interest with ice powers but replace Brother–Sister Incest with Your Days Are Numbered like Sheryl (though the difference is that Sheryl got better with Ranka's help while Glacies has a few years to live) into the mix? Check.
- Destructive Romance: His characters had suffered from seeing his wife die in a Bad Ending, marrying his sister, getting killed and reincarnated, being engaged to someone who doesn't love him and having an incestuous interest towards his sister and his love losing faith in him after all the effort he made to rescue her, declaring that she loved his 'best friend' that ruined his life out of spite and jealousy, and finally killing herself, leaving him to snap and become a time-spanning dark lord. Poor guy can't catch a break. If his character is also a fighting-type, then the character's also a Heartbroken Badass.
- Pigeonholed Voice Actor: He usually voices Jerkasses with a nice personality when you get to know him, Pretty Boys, The Rival towards a character being voiced by either Yuki Kaji or Mamoru Miyano, and recently, hammy villains.
