Little By Little contains examples of:

• Book Ends: Jett asks Frank what flower he thinks could symbolise their love, to which Frank replies "poppies". At the end of the story, Jett places some poppies on Frank's grave.
• Talking to the Dead: The second half of the fic consists in Jett going to Springfield's cemetery to visit Frank's grave and talk to him.
• The Lost Lenore: Frank becomes this for Jett.
