  • ️Sat Aug 17 2024

"Cock and the jewel" is one of Aesop's Fables.

There was once a cock who was scratching the ground for food for himself, but instead found a preciousshiny jewel. The bird says to itself that if a human found the stone then (s)he would have taken it. But the cock leaves it alone because it would much have preferred to find corn.

Tropes:

  • Minimalist Cast: The cock is the only character.
  • The Noun and the Noun: It is called "cock and the jewel".
  • Worthless Yellow Rocks: The rooster finds a jewel. While he is fully aware of how valuable humans would find it, he himself would much rather have found corn to eat, which is worth more to him.
