"Kite and the doves" is one of Aesop's Fables.
Once upon a time there was a flock of doves. Their lives were mostly peaceful, but they were dreadfully scared of the local kite and always hid from it. One day the kite asked them why they are hiding when they could make the kite their leader, so it could protect them from any predator. The doves agreed and made the kite their leader. They soon regretted their decision when the kite ordered them to scrafice a dove per day the kite would eat.
