"Old man and the ass" is one of Aesop's Fables.
There was once an old man who was out in a field with his donkey. They were peacefully napping until the man stood up in alarm when he saw enemy soldiers approaching. He urged the donkey to run away before they could get captured. But the donkey asked if the enemy would make it carry havier loads. When the man admited no, the donkey decided not to care to escape because it does not matter to it who is its master.

- Stubborn Mule: Justified. When its owner urges the donkey to escape the enemy soldiers, it refuses because it does not care about if its owner gets replaced by them.
