• Assassination Classroom has Koro-sensei give the diploma to the reader in the final chapter's opening color page. The same thing happens at the end of the second season’s final episode when Nagisa wearing Koro-sensei's gown waves goodbye to the audience with the words next to him saying "Thanks for watching Assassination Classroom" as seen here◊.
• One of the last Azumanga Daioh strips had the girls going to Yukari and thanking her for being their teacher. However, the actual "Thank You" panel showed the girls facing toward the reader, subtly thanking them as well.
• Battle Programmer Shirase had an unusual variant. The head director apologized for the show having to end, specifically addressing: "To those who enjoyed the show on TV and to those outside the broadcast area who took special measures to watch the show on their PC monitors and to everybody who watched it subtitled overseas without permission."
• The cover of Dragon Ball's final volume is Goku flying in space, waving at the reader and saying "THANK YOU! GOODBYE!!" (and Majin Buu's in a flying saucer, waving bye as well).
• In episode 167 of Gintama, Gintoki becomes nostalgic about 8-bit video games and mentions how touched he was when he saw the words "you" in the credits at the end of the game.
• Each volume of Magic Kaito ends with Kaito bowing in front of a theatre curtain while thanking the reader and inviting them to keep on with the next issue, simulating the end of a stage show.
• Neon Genesis Evangelion inverts this with the infamous congratulatory scene at the end. What exactly you are being congratulated for is all up to you, though. Perhaps for making it through the show.
• Pretty Cure:
  • Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash★Star's last lines are "Hey, everyone out there in front of the TV! You've cheered us on for a whole year! Thank you so much! The adventures of Pretty Cure will continue for a long time! Well then, let's meet again somewhere, okay? Bye bye!". They eventually do this a year later.
  • Since Suite Pretty Cure ♪, the final episodes of each installment of the franchise thank their fans with a pastel image.
  • HappinessCharge Pretty Cure! invokes this for the franchise's Milestone Celebration with appearances from all 33 previous Cures ^note  at the beginning of each episode.
    • At the end of Happiness Charge, Cure Lovely thanks the viewers for supporting the characters of the now-finished series and then introduces the leader in the next series, Cure Flora. This marked the first time the past lead Cure has ever took to the screens to thank the viewers and pass the baton. Just like the pastel drawings, this procedure has also been repeated since then.
• The very final shot in Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a "Thank you for watching" artwork.
• The final episode of GO-GO Tamagotchi!, also the grand finale of the Tamagotchi! anime in general, has Mametchi and his friends thanking the viewers for watching their show at the end, before getting a group picture.

• The cover of the final issue of DC Comics' Cartoon Network Block Party (issue 59, from July 2009) had all the CN stars who appeared in the book, with the Powerpuff Girls in front taking bows, on a stage.
• Played With in one MAD parody. In the parody of Taxi, the Louie de Palma expy orders the taxi drivers to give people a free ride. They refuse at first, until he tells them it's for the people who watch the show.
• The final panel of the final My Little Pony: Friends Forever story has Princess Celestia thank the readers for all their support.
• Both The Unbelievable Gwenpool and Gwenpool Strikes Back end with Gwen thanking the readers for the support: the former with Gwen about to start the loop of the final issue over, accepting that her story is done for now, and the latter with her confident that she now has a future after spending the entire miniseries worried about editorial permanently retiring her character.
• The final page of Mark Millar's Wanted features a Subverion, as Wesley delivers a "The Reason You Suck" Speech to the reader, declaring how much they suck compared to himself.

• Peanuts ended its almost 50 year run with a thank you to his editors and fans from Charles Schulz, made even more poignant by the fact it was published the day after he died.

• Most Fanfic writers thank their readers at some point, but this especially tends to happen a) on the last installment of their work, and b) when the work has been particularly long and/or with many readers and fans ("Thanks for sticking with me so long/being such wonderful fans").
• A hypothetical reworking of Disney's Once Upon a Studio called Version 2.0 ends with longer two-part dedication:

"Laughter, imagination, and dreams will always stand the test of both time and age, and their combined power will always captivate and enthral our hearts.

• The Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf Film Series movies The Super Adventure, Moon Castle: The Space Adventure, and Mission Incredible: Adventures on the Dragon's Trail end with text saying "thanks for watching". In The Super Adventure and Moon Castle, the text is written on a clapperboard that Weslie brings into view and claps shut.
• Disney's centenary short Once Upon a Studio ends with the dedication "To all who have imagined with us, laughed with us, and dreamed with us, Thank You".

• Babe: Pig in the City: After the credits, one of the mice thanks the audience for staying until the very end of the movie.
• Barbara the Fair with the Silken Hair, a very silly Russian fairy tale movie, ends with the old lady narrator thanking the viewer for watching.
• Borat: "I thank you very much for to watch my film! I hope you like! Jinquei!"
• In-Universe example from Groundhog Day. A couple walks by and the guy recognizes Phil Connors (Bill Murray) and says, "Hey, it's Phil Connors," and Phil says, "Thanks, thanks for watching."
• In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, at one point during the standing ovation to welcome back Hagrid, we get a shot of Hermione with a big smile and crying tears of joy as she gives a wave goodbye to the camera.
• Jackass Forever, throughout its run in theaters, would play a clip of Johnny Knoxville thanking the audience for supporting their local movie theater before the movie started.
• In-Universe example from Ready Player One (2018) where upon completing the quest for the OASIS, the avatar of it's creator James Halliday thanks Wade/Parzival.

  "Goodbye, Parzival. Thanks. Thanks for playing my game."

• The book adaptation of the Donkey Hodie episode "Flying Flapjacks" ends with the line "Donkey was able to make a delicious batch of flying flapjacks with a little help from her friends... including you!". This is because the book utilized interactive pull tabs to help Donkey perform certain activities (like pouring milk and making the flapjacks fly).
• The dedication for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is split seven ways, with the seventh being "to you, if you have stuck with Harry until the very end."
• The High King is dedicated "To the boys who have always been Taran and the girls who will always be Eilonwy." (Taran is the series protagonist and point of view character, and Eilonwy is his only female companion.)
• Brandon Sanderson has taken to doing this on the novels he is writing to complete The Wheel of Time.

By Creator:

• Inverted by British reviewer Charlie Brooker in his series Screenwipe, Newswipe, and You Have Been Watching, where he usually tells the viewer to go away. In fact, it's almost a catchphrase.
• The WB had a video thanking their viewers over their 11-year run, which ran at the very end of the last commercial break of its final program (the pilot of Dawson's Creek) before being replaced with The CW. The last image before it went off the air for good (the credits of the final show notwithstanding) was a silhouette of Michigan J. Frog, who had been the mascot for the channel up until 2005, taking a symbolic final bow. This closing montage was, however, not seen on The WB affiliates that had switched to MyNetworkTV two weeks earlier (unless those stations carried The WB as a secondary affiliate).

  For 11 years, you brought us into your homes. We made you smile, and tugged at your heart. And now, we say goodbye. From all of us at The WB, thank you.

By Series:

• The end of Angel.
• Subverted in the fourth season finale of Babylon 5 (the first episode filmed after season 5 was greenlit by the network) which was dedicated to "all the people who predicted that the Babylon Project would fail in its mission".
  • But then played straight in the series finale (which, due to the troubled nature of the fifth season, was produced as the fourth season finale, but aired as the fifth season finale), which was dedicated to "those of you who have been archiving this ISN Special Documentary".
• Barney Miller: "Goodbye and thank you from all of us at the ol' one two."
• Bear in the Big Blue House ends each episode with Bear and Luna singing the "Goodbye Song", which starts with them thanking the viewer for coming over to the Big Blue House. After the song is done, Bear thanks the viewer again.
• Loonette would sign off every episode of The Big Comfy Couch by thanking the viewer for coming over to the titular couch.
• CBS Sunday Morning had its first host, Charles Kuralt, end his run in 1994 after 15 years by saying this:

  Charles Kuralt: Time for us to part, you and I—saying goodbye to the viewers of Sunday Morning is like saying goodbye to old friends; that's the way I feel. Thank you for making me feel that way. I aim to do some traveling and reading and writing, and to watch this program the civilized way for a change—in my bathrobe while having breakfast. Charles Osgood appreciates poems and often commits poetry himself. There is a rhyme by Clarence Day which says what I want to say: "Farewell my friends, farewell and hail; I'm off to seek the holy grail. I cannot tell you why. Remember please when I am gone, 'twas aspiration led me on. Tiddly-widdly-toodle-oo, all I want is to stay with you, but...here I go. Goodbye."

• Cheers ended its 11-year run (episode "One for the Road") with a Lonely Piano Piece version of the end credits theme, followed by the message "Thanks for having us over on all those Thursday nights—Cheers" on the screen.
• Episodes of The Doodlebops end with a reprise of its theme song, whose lyrics are altered this time around to thank the viewer. The Doodlebops say a few words to thank fans for being "the biggest part" of all the fun everybody had together. In many episodes, though, this is cut down for time, leaving only the portions of the song which thank fans and assure them they'll be back.
• Everybody Loves Raymond is produced by a company called "Where's Lunch?", and each episode features a different dish on a plate as its Couch Gag / Vanity Plate. In its place for the finale is a bill reading "NO CHARGE! Thank you." Apparently, we were good customers.
• In the series finale of Happy Days after Joanie and Chachi's wedding, Howard Cunningham gives a speech, and at the end, he turns to the audience and says, "Thank you all for being part of our family."
• The final episode (actually the Sentai history recap special) of Mirai Sentai Timeranger ends with Tatsuya and the gang in their Timeranger uniforms without their helmets thanking the viewer for supporting the show. Yuuri also adds that they will see each other again someday somewhere else, and they all say their goodbyes.
• The final episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood features Mister Rogers addressing the viewers (which he always did anyway), talking about how proud he is of every single one of them and how glad he is to have been part of their lives, and thanking them for being part of his.
• The credits of both the Season 7 finale and the Season 10 finale of Mystery Science Theater 3000 had the credits give a special thanks to "All MSTies worldwide".
• The end credits for the final episode of MythBusters included Special Thanks to "viewers across the world for watching, submitting ideas and telling us what we got wrong!"
• Nashville finished its CMT run with the final scene being a mass singalong from the cast including former cast members, and the producers and crew thanking the city and viewers "For Six Wonderful Years."
• Every episode of Oobi, including those that leave the title character Out of Focus, will end with him telling the viewers, "Oobi, you, friends!" before he and the off-screen kids' voices trade "Goodbye"'s with each other.
• On Bob Barker's final episode of The Price Is Right, he ended the show by thanking the audience for inviting him into their homes for the last 50 years, and then said his famous spay-neuter plug^note  one last time, as the audience cheered loudly.
• In Sharon, Lois, and Bram's Elephant Show at the end of each episode as Sharon, Lois and Bram sing the closing theme, Lois says to the audience, "Thanks for watching!" and Bram adds, "We'll see you next time!"
• The Sunny Side Up Show often ended with the hosts thanking the viewers for coming and mentioning Sprout's other blocks which were coming later, before saying goodbye.
• The Grand Finale of Supernatural, "Carry On," ends with Sam and Dean Winchester, now reunited in Heaven, thanking the viewers for tuning in over the past fifteen years, and as the camera zooms out, we see them and some other people on the bridge from the first episode waving goodbye to the viewers.
• Korean Drama Who Are You? ends with some behind-the-scenes footage, followed by the lead characters appearing out-of-character to thank the viewer for watching.
• The final episode of the 2017 series of The Worst Witch has a freeze frame of Mildred embracing her friends. Then the words "The End - Thank you for watching!" appear on the screen and then...

• In the last two seasons of the 1999 Zoom series, the Zoomers thank the viewers for watching the show and say bye at the end of every episode before the credits start.

  Well, that's the end of our show! Thanks for watching! Bye!

• ABBA had a song on their Album album called "Thank You For The Music", which was re-released before they fizzled out to thank their fans for sticking by them.
• The Backstreet Boys have "Larger Than Life". While not the last track on Millennium (in fact, it's only the first track on the album), the song is pretty much the boys thanking their fans for their support and devotion to the group.
• Freddie Mercury gives his public farewell in the last line of "These are the days of our lives" (the last video clip he made) when he looks into the camera and says to the audience: "I still love you."
• Let It Be, the last album released by The Beatles (though not the last recorded), features a remark uttered by John Lennon during their concert on the roof of the EMI Studios:

  I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we've passed the audition.

• The first song on Mike Keneally's solo debut album hat. is "Your Quimby Dollars At Work," which crosses this with Album Title Drop and Miniscule Rocking.

• The Wall Live in Berlin ended with Roger Waters and the cast thanking the combined audiences of East and West Berlin for attending the show.
• An Easter Egg in the "Weird Al" Yankovic album Straight Outta Lynwood features Al playing home movies, but before that, he thanks you for buying his CD... "instead of downloading like some HOOLIGAN!"

• While it doesn't have "credits" the tecnicos of Chikara will often thank fans for coming the show as they leave the arena during intermissions.
• After their final show of 2015, LLF put a thank you banner◊ on their then new site.
• Leva Bates stated the Heart Of SHIMMER Championship Tournament was all a big lead up to this and it became disturbed after coming to the conclusion every other wrestler picked had failed to realize it.

• When Omaha radio station KOIL-AM 1290 was forced by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to cease broadcasting on September 2, 1976 due to mismanagement by Don Burden (the station returned to the air three months later under new ownership), the station's last DJ for the day, Gene Shaw, delivered this message:

  It is 12:00 midnight. Now KOIL leaves the air for an indefinite period of time by order of the Federal Communications Commission. We wish to express our thanks to the thousands of listeners who have enjoyed and depended on this station over the past 51 years. This is KOIL, Omaha.

• John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme had a joking, but still sweet, version in The Stinger for one episode:

  John: If you'd like to hear this broadcast again... well, d'aww, thank you!

• ANNO: Mutationem: At the end of the Mysterious Console DLC, after learning her spirit will be freed after exiting the final dungeon, Noni thanks Ayane for her help by spelling "Thank You!" on the ground before saying goodbye.
• In Arfenhouse 3, the "Special Thanks" section of the credits ends with "...and you...for doing nothing."
• Simply completing Arkista's Ring rewards the player with Christine thanking the player for saving Arkista's Ring.
• At the end of glitch mode in Baldi's Basics Plus, Mystman himself will appear to speak the singular line "Thanks for playing my game", but only if this is not your first run through and you've already defeated Null.
• The end credits for Banjo-Tooie end with "And finally, well done to you for making it this far." This note is exclusive to the N64 version (also on Nintendo Switch Online) and does not appear in the Xbox Live Arcade version.
• Clearing BLUE REVOLVER on one credit on Parallel Mode, including the True Final Boss, results in a special thank-you message from the developers after the credits finish.
• Castlevania says in its credits: "You played the greatest role in this game". Some of the later titles also thank the player.
• The Corridor: Reloading the game after the credits puts the player in the corridor again, but the button is replaced with a sticky note reading "Thank you. For everything."
• Every DanceDanceRevolution announcer has at least one "Thank you for playing!" line, but special mention goes to the track "PARANOiA Revolution", which has lines from the first DDR announcer hard-coded into the track audio. The track ends with said announcer saying "I'm so impressed I could cry! Thank you very much for your best dance!"...followed by the ending drumroll and accompanying stream of notes that will likely cause an off-guard player to fail the stage at the last second.
• The Stinger in Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2 has the Intern directly thanking the player.
• Dragalia Lost: After defeating the Final Boss and seeing the credits, the game will present a picture of the main cast, and say "Thank You for Playing!".
• The credits scene at the end of Dragon Age: Inquisition's final DLC Trespasser has Cassandra read out excerpts from Varric's new book about the Inquisition, All This Shit is Weird. But after the narration, there's more - a heartfelt message from the Dragon Age team:

  To all of you who played Dragon Age: Inquisition: who laughed, cried, and reached out on social media; who made fan art and comics and cosplay and jokes - Thank you. Dragon Age: Inquisition was a labor of love. Without you, it would never have been possible. Your support and your passion touched us deeply. We hope that, in some small way, this game touched you as well.

  Bare your blade and raise it high.

• Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout ends with a gradually populating image of the game's cast and an upbeat song in which Hironobu Kageyama sings "Thank you!"
• The Drakengard series (including Nier and the sequel) ended with a character(s) saying "Thank you for playing." after reaching an ending.
• Fear & Hunger: Termina: At the very end of the credits, the player is thanked for playing as their character.
• Final Fantasy:
  • Final Fantasy VI: The "cast list" of the game, where each of the playable characters who you picked up in the World Of Ruin is shown with what they were renamed to as well as their original names, end with "AND YOU".
  • Final Fantasy XIV: The credits sequence for Endwalker does this, being the end of a decade-long tale since 1.0. After the main credits sequence, one more segment plays listing out the major leads of the team...and the following credit, for being a major part of the story and the entire game as a whole.

  The Warrior of Light

  • "The Rising" is an annual event dedicated to Eorzea's rise from the ashes following the Seventh Umbral Calamity (and by extension, the launch of A Realm Reborn). During these events, the player encounters the Wandering Minstrel, an Author Avatar for head developer Naoki Yoshida. At times — particularly when a new expansion is over the horizon — the Minstrel will play a song that leads the player to have a vision of Yoshida, himself, appearing before them to give his gratitude personally.
  • A blink-and-you'll-miss-it example from the true ending of World of Final Fantasy. Before resuming the Dance Party Creative Closing Credits, Enna Kros thanks the player.
• Halo:
  • Halo: Reach's credits open with Bungie thanking the fans for all their support throughout the past decade. It doubles as a touching farewell, because Reach turned out to be Bungie's last Halo game.
  • Halo 4 has a particularly heartwarming one: the credits open with a message from 343 Industries that not only thanks the player for completing the game, but putting their trust in them as they take over the direction of the franchise.
• At the end of Heaven's Vault, an untranslated Ancient text is shown. If you (the player, not the character) managed to master the language enough, you can figure out its translation, which is roughly "thank you for playing".
• After the secret ending of The Henry Stickmin Collection, the final entry in the Henry Stickmin Series, which requires you to have fully played the game by getting every ending and fail, a screen shows up to thank the player for having enjoyed the series for all these years.
• Itsy & Bitsy: "Chill Out" mode will always end with Bitsy doing this.
• Karoshi: THANKS FOR PLAY.
• The credits sequence in Kirby's Dream Land ends in "And... so many players."
• The Legend of Zelda:
  • Zelda II: The Adventure of Link: The credits say "Thanks A Million".
  • The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass: towards the beginning of the game, you - the player - were asked to sign for a letter. At the very end of the credits, your signature appears.
• The end of the credits of Mass Effect 3's Extended Cut:

  It has been a long journey - for Shepard and for the team here at BioWare - and like Shepard, we couldn't have done it alone. The Mass Effect trilogy began as a vision of a small team, but over the years it has grown. That growth has been fueled and shaped by the feedback and support of our player community. Thank you for joining us on this journey, and we look forward to sharing further adventures with you in the Mass Effect universe.

• One of the hidden galleries in the original Medal of Honor has the entire cast (including the joke characters of multiplayer) cheering and thanking the player in a huge group shot.
• A staple of at least the SNES releases of Mega Man X games. "Thanks X, Zero and YOU!"
• In The Stinger of the offline version of Mega Man X DiVE, following RiCO's tearful reunion with iCO and ViA, the final scene is of RiCO walking onto the screen and thanking the player.
• Mega Pony ends its "special thanks" section with thanks "to you, 'cause you just don't put a thanks section without thanking the player, that'd be just rude!"
• Messiah: "Thanks for playing", with the protagonist waving at you.
• Mother:
  • EarthBound famously used this at the end. It even addresses the player by their real name. Assuming that you didn't put in "BUTTS" or "Ness".
  • In Mother 3, you are mentioned, by name, at the end of the credits, of course. Not only that, but at the end of the game, everyone in the game thanks you, personally, for all that you did for them, assures you that their world is going to be okay, and hopes that your world is as good to you as you've been to them.
• The storyline ending of Need for Speed Heat also uses the "Thank you for playing!" line.
• Neptunia:
  • Hyperdimension Neptunia's Golden Ending has your three primary party members thanking you personally for getting them to the best ending. The game has No Fourth Wall to begin with, but this is the only time they talk directly to the player.
  • The PS Vita/PC Updated Re-release, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1, also does this, in both the normal ending which plays similarly to the original example, only with the other 3 goddesses and a cameo from Arfoire added, and in the Golden Ending in which everyone from the Maker characters, to the CPU Candidates to NPCs and even Arfoire herself gives their thanks.
• Persona 5 Tactica: The credits gives special thanks to "All Persona 5 Tactica players" among other staff members. However, if the player bought the "Repaint Your Heart" Challenge Pack DLC and completed all five optional stage missions, they are treated to a short cinematic of Morgana tossing a gold crown that passes by all of the Phantom Thieves, Erina, and Toshiro, with Joker catching it at the end. Joker then puts the crown atop his head, while Morgana pulls out a party popper. The two look at the player while a message that says "Thank you for playing!" appears at the end of the cinematic.
• The original Portal ends its credits with "THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING IN THIS ENRICHMENT CENTER ACTIVITY".
• In the Pretty Series video games, the credits end with a special thanks to various developers, ending with "and... [Insert Name Here]", with the name being the player's name.
• Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart: The credits end on "Thank you for joining us on this interdimensional adventure."
• Used in Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song, with the character you selected directly thanking the player and encouraging them to "help the others just like you did me!", to roughly paraphrase it.
• Shadow of the Wool Ball: From the credits: "Thanks a lot for playing my game! :D"
• Snailiad ends by thanking you, because every game thanks "you" at the end, so "you" must be a pretty special person.
• The credits of Sonic Frontiers' "Another Story" scenario end with a message along these lines- a very short, but sweet message.

  "We dedicate this game to all the players who supported us. Thank you for playing!"

• Completing Sonic Robo Blast 2 with 100% Completion adds a note to the door of one of the shacks in Greenflower Zone Act 1, nodding to the game's status as a Perpetual Beta.

  To everyone who's helped keep this game alive all these years,

  thank you.

• In Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon, the final "Very Special Thanks" credit goes to "You! (For Shelling Out Your Hard Earned Bucks To Buy This Game)."
• In Splatoon 3, you can collect titles, which consist of a first half and a second half, which can then be mixed and matched in any way you like and is displayed on your profile for other players. The very last one added to the game, near the end of the set of unlockables for the final season, Sizzle Season 2024, is "Thank You" as the first half and "For Playing" as the second half.
• StarCraft II: Nova Covert Ops ends with a thank you to the players throughout the franchise before the credits roll to the sight of Nova's ship speeding through asteroids.
• Street Fighter II: Prior to his ending being updated in Super, M. Bison's ending ends with him saying "THANKS TO YOU...THE WORLD IS MINE!!"
• At the end of the "Dawn of the Rise of the Fallen Machines" DLC for Sunset Overdrive the protagonist tells the other characters to thank the player, pointing directly to the fourth screen. When asked what you want to be called you're given the choice of:
  • Master of the Universe.
  • Sexiest Gamer Alive.
  • Just Your Average Gamer.
  • Shut Up and Give Me My Achievement.
• Super Mario Bros.:
  • Mario says "Thank you so much for playing my game!" at the end of the credits roll for every 3D Super Mario game, with the exception of (ironically) the 3D Land and 3D World duology. Those games have their Brutal Bonus Level spell out "Thank you" at the very end instead, with various NPCs thanking/cheering Mario and the player on. Super Mario Odyssey uses both methods.
  • The coral in World 9-4 of Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels spells out "アリガトウ!" (arigatou!, "Thank you!"). Also, the Game Over screen if you die there, which appends "You're a super player! We hope we'll see you again. Mario and staff." below the usual message.
  • At the end of Super Mario World, the Yoshi eggs Mario rescued thank you, the player, for saving them. The last part of Funky also has coins that spell out "YOU ARE A SUPER PLAYER!!".
  • Hotel Mario: "YOU'RE THE BEST PLAYER EVER!"
  • If you get all of the 120 stars in Super Mario 64, Yoshi appears on top of the castle, greeting Mario as an old friend. However, the end of his speech ends with "The Super Mario 64 Team", meaning that his message isn't entirely his own. But the later part of the speech has a lot of thanking.
  • Super Mario Galaxy: "Thank you. I will always watch you from beyond the stars..."
  • Mario Kart franchise: All of the following follows an end credits sequence followed by a Thank You screen, usually gotten by completing all the cups in Bronze or higher.
    • Super Mario Kart: The screen says "THANK YOU" with all the drivers jumping for joy.
    • Mario Kart 64: Mario's voice says, "Hey, you're really good! See you next time!"
    • Mario Kart: Double Dash!!: The screen says "Thanks for playing!" with all the drivers cheering and surrounded by falling confetti, and Mario, Luigi, and Peach wave at the camera.
    • Mario Kart DS: The screen says "Thanks for playing!" with all the drivers posing in front of the trophy alter.
    • Mario Kart Wii: The drivers all cheer and wave at the camera while the screen says, "CONGRATULATIONS!"
    • Mario Kart 7: The screen says "THANKS FOR PLAYING!" with all the drivers in go-karts waving to the camera, while Mario's voice says, "Thanks for playing! You're the best! Haha!"
    • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Completing all the cups (bronze or higher) in the Booster Course Pass will unlock a special credits scene, which concludes with a picture of the drivers cheerfully driving onto the viewer with the message "THANK YOU!" written beneath them.
• Tetanus: The null map accessed after the final standard level, taking place in the exit area of the Tetanus facility, features a message board from the distance which thanks the player for having played the game.
• Tomb Raider (2013):"Thank you for taking the time to complete our game" in the first part of the credit.
• "I am Calypso, and I thank you for playing Twisted Metal."
• Viewtiful Joe ends with the words "Everybody loves a hero. Everybody loves you" on the screen.

• Doki Doki Literature Club! does this in its regular ending and in the secret good ending.
  • The main ending has the titular Literature Club's president Monika thanking the player for joining her club in the first place in the form of a special note she leaves behind at the end of the credits, moments after she deleted the entire game's code, which includes deleting the existence of the main cast, Monika included.
  • This trope is also applied to the secret ending that's achieved from viewing every full art/CG in the game. Instead of Monika thanking the player, it's the creator of the game, Dan Salvato himself- that does that. He goes on to addressing how he came up with his idea of the Literature Club and its inhabitants, and the idea of morality and reality within a fictional world, and ends with a huge thank you to the player.
• The Hungry Lamb: Traveling in the Late Ming Dynasty: The two best endings or conclusion chapters ("Together in Death" and "Traveling Together") deliver a thank-you message after the credits roll.
• Snatcher has a strange example: After Gillian and Jamie escape from the church before it's destroyed with the Kill Sat along with the Snatcher production factory, Random thanks the player for being "a hell of a Junker" as he holds Elijah down. He thanks the player after the character he's been controlling leaves the scene.

• This strip of Bomango. The DeviantArt gallery hit 2 million pageviews. So someone asks Gogo if she wants to thank the readers or anything. But she's trying to sleep, so Gogo, being Gogo and all, tells them to "[...]shut up and get out of [her] room or else [she'll] start breaking bones."
• The closing lyrics of "One Final Song" from Brawl in the Family.

• Every chapter of Gunnerkrigg Court ends with Tom Siddell thanking the reader in The Rant.
• The end of Problem Sleuth has some credits with the line "Story: You", because it's an interactive comic.
• Team Fortress 2: In the last few pages of the final webcomic "The Days Have Worn Away", where Scout/Jeremy has invited all his friends and their families to a Smissmas dinner. The last guest shows up, who Jeremy warmly greets and thanks them for sticking with him and his old crew, only it's revealed that you're the final guest as Jeremy pulls up a chair for you while everyone else is cheering at your arrival.

  Jeremy: We couldn't have done any of this without you.

• The G0ATFAC3 Corner ends its final episode, "RED RUNS THROUGH", with a message profusely thanking everyone who watched the series throughout its run.
• Many YouTube channels and streamers will regularly thank their viewers and subscribers, some to the point of Memetic Mutation.
• The last two episodes of LEGO Rewind contained a thank-you to the viewers new and old for all their feedback, personal stories, and influx of viewership. The very last episode contains a special thank-you message delivered by several LEGO YouTubers:

  "You are LEGO Rewind."

• No one appreciates their audience as much as Markiplier. In addition to more 'thank you for watching' type things than we could hope to list, he makes videos just to tell his fans how awesome they are. Like this one.
• A rather unique example, every post-"A Shocking Addition" episode credits for Object Overload credits "you. The viewer" in the special thanks section for watching.

• The ending credits of The Adventures of Raggedy Ann & Andy has Raggedy Ann and Andy waving goodbye to the viewer as a thanks for watching. Seen here.
• The Underdog Productions Vanity Plate used on American Dad! has Security Officer Peña (a security guard for one of 20th Television's production studios) waving and/or giving a thumbs-up to the viewer and saying "Bye, have a great/wonderful/beautiful time!" or something similar.
• The credits for the final episode of Animaniacs has the message "A special THANK YOU to all those who have contributed to the success of Animaniacs."
• Batman: The Brave and the Bold's finale ended with nearly all the cast from past episodes gathering for a "wrap up party" hosted by Ambush Bug. Batman then turns to the viewers and thanks them for watching as we get a final group shot.
• The last episode of Beavis and Butt-Head ended the credits with "Thank you to all the talented artists, writers and highly intelligent people who worked so hard to make Beavis and Butt-head look so dumb."
• Every Blue's Clues episode ends with Steve (or Joe) thanking the audience for all their help that day before singing the "So Long Song". When Steve goes off to college, he gives the audience a bigger thank-you for all their help across the series to date and asks them to continue to help Joe. At the end of Blue's Big Musical Movie and right before the credits, Blue holds up a sign reading "Thanks for coming to Blue's Big Musical" as she barks out "Thanks for coming!"
• Cartoon Planet would thank you for watching the Closing Credits, then end with a "See You Soon."
• The credits for the final episode of Centaurworld have Comfortable Doug thank the viewer for watching the entire series to the end, though he claims that he was the main character as opposed to Horse and her herd, and gets sidetracked in the middle of his thanks to sing his theme song.
• David Mandel thanks the viewers in his Vanity Plate on Clerks: The Animated Series.
• Codename: Kids Next Door ended with a drawing by series creator, Tom Warburton (Mr. Warburton in the credits), of the Sector V cast overlooking the sunset from their treehouse with the words "Stay Young" at the top. A subtle thank you to the viewers for the six-year series.
• Daria always had a licensed song playing during its Creative Closing Credits; in the Grand Finale, the "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue ends with the beginning of a song from Supergrass: "Thanks to everyone for everything you've done/But now it's tiiiiime to go...'"
  • Again, when the finale originally aired on MTV, it was followed with a musical montage of various moments from the series, and after it was over a sign appears on the screen saying "To all our fans, thanks."
• Drawn Together's series finale has Toot telling everyone "Hey assholes, thanks for watching!".
• Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends had a drawing of Mac and Bloo at the end of the final episode from series creator, Craig McCracken, with a thank you to the viewers.
• The series finale of Freakazoid! had the entire cast singing "We'll Meet Again" from Dr. Strangelove at the Hollywood Bowl.
• Grojband: While every episode ends with Corey turning to the audience and saying "Thanks for coming out, everyone!", the Grand Finale "Hear Us Rock!" notably has all of Grojband saying this and then waving to the viewers before Corey closes the episode with the traditional garage door.
• This happened during the end credits of Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie with a message to acknowledge the fans for helping to bring the movie out of Development Hell saying "Thank you to all the fans who wrote letters and signed petitions encouraging the making of this movie."
• The final episode of Inspector Gadget, "Gadget and the Red Rose", concluded with Gadget proudly saying he owes everything to his fans (after being lured into a trap by two old ladies pretending to be his fan club), and holding an autographed picture up to the viewer, which winks.
• The final episode of Jem, "A Father Should Be...", had the cast members saying goodbye to the viewers, and ended with the titular character waving at the audience.
• Once per Episode, the end of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (except for the first season) has Mickey saying to the viewers "Aww, thanks for stopping by!"
• OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes's ending theme (sung by Rebecca Sugar) is about making cartoons, with the second half thanking the viewer repeatedly for their viewership. The final episode is even entitled "Thank You for Watching the Show", with K.O. himself saying those very words before the credits roll.

• The Owl House:
  • Every season had a hidden message in its titles, with the first letter of each episode title spelling out a phrase every season. Due to the third season getting shortened to just three double-length episodes, taking the first word of every episode title gives the phrase "Thanks For Watching".
  • During its initial premier, the Grand Finale was preceded by a clip show of some of the show's best moments that directly thanked the viewer for being there every step of the way and and coming to join Luz and her friends for "one last flight home".
  • The very last shot has the entire cast wave goodbye to The Collector after he puts on a show, but the way it's framed makes it feel more directed to the audience for watching.
• From the last episode of Phineas and Ferb the song "Thank You For Comin' Along" has the characters singing to the audience, thanking them for watching. At the end of the song, Phineas waves goodbye to the audience before closing the door.
• The Popeye short "Me Musical Nephews" has Popeye's nephews saying their prayers before bedtime, mentioning all their friends. They hop into to bed, only to quickly get back out and add "And all the people who come to see our pictures."
• Razzberry Jazzberry Jam: The song that plays over the credits, “We Wanna Thank You”, is all about doing this. Here’s a sample of the lyrics:

  We wanna thank you (Thank you!)
  For joinin’ the jam!
  We wanna thank you (Thank you!)
  For hangin’ out ‘till the end!

• The series finale for the Redwall animated series concluded with Tim Churchmouse thanking the viewers for visiting and asking them to visit them again soon.
• The Simpsons episode "Once Upon a Time in Springfield" ends with a message thanking the audience tuning in for the past 20 years. The 500th episode does a similar thing, but instead asks viewers to get outside before going online to say the episode sucked.
• Played For Surreal Laughs at the end of the Smiling Friends episode "Desmond's Big Day Out", where a dancing alien from the TV at the beginning of the episode breaks out of said TV and rapidly says "Hello, thank you for watching", while Charlie and Alan panic about it and argue about who should grab it.
• During Toonami's final broadcast (until its 2012 revival), TOM 4.0 thanks the viewers for eleven years of support.
• Ugly Americans: A Man Bird does this at the end of the final episode.
• Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum: Every episode ends with Xavier, Yadina, and Brad thanking the kids watching at home for joining them on their adventures.

• Armenian folk tales almost always end with some variant on the phrase "Three apples fell from heaven; one for the storyteller, one for the listener, and one for whoever pays good attention."
• Since it's both Music and Web Video, indie Girl Group Cimorelli always thanks the viewer this way, combined with Signing-Off Catchphrase.

  Thanks for watching, We love the CimFam!

• Disney Sing-Along Songs: The live Disneyland Fun video has, at the end of the Special Thanks credits, "...and all the guests who joined us for a day of Disneyland Fun."

• Many towns will have a sign saying something to the effect of "Thank you for visiting!" at the town limits (it's usually on the reverse of a "Welcome to ___" sign).
• Some letters and other messages contain a "Thank you for taking your time to read/watch this."
• The self checkouts they have at stores will say "Thank you for shopping with us" when you finish using them. Also a lot of malls have a "Thank you for shopping with us" sign at the exit.
