Chapter 7: Spring Broken
Blitzo makes a bet with his ex-girlfriend, succubus pop-star Verosika Mayday. If I.M.P. wins, they get their parking space, which Verosika took out of pettiness, back; if Verosika's crew wins, they get custody of Lincoln (whom the succubae have taken a shine to) for the rest of the week.
Tropes That Appear In This Chapter:
- Accidental Truth: Downplayed, but Verosika is amused to find out that there was indeed a child in Blitzo's van, noting that maybe there should be an AMBER Alert on him.
- Adaptational Alternate Ending: Unlike the canon ending, Lincoln helps Verosika and her crew evade arrest by freezing the entire police force with ice magic. This in turn leads to Verosika and her "sluts" developing real feelings for the boy.
- Adaptational Context Change: Downplayed; the bet for the parking space is still there, but now the stakes are higher in that, if I.M.P. loses, they would also lose Lincoln as he would now have to work for Verosika.
- Adaptational Deviation: Moxxie does not go into Verosika's office and, in turn, is not sexually assaulted by the pop-star and her crew. Instead, Lincoln is the one who attempts to negotiate with Verosika, which leads to Verosika and her succubae taking an interest in the boy and covering his face in lipstick.
- Chick Magnet: Verosika and her "sluts" quickly start gushing over Lincoln due to how cute he is.
- Pet the Dog: Verosika saves Lincoln from being crushed by the mutated fish.
