Whatcha doin'?
CORROSION is a Friday Night Funkin' one-shot mod made by Milo008, based on Phineas and Ferb.
The lore, according to its creator, is as follows: this is a Lost Episode in which Phineas and Ferb build a device that would give anyone superpowers, with its design similar to that in "Bee Story", whereas you type the name of the person receiving the powers. Meanwhile, Doofenshmirtz's inator shoots out a ray at the end of his scheme before exploding. As expected from any episode, Doof's ray collides with the boys' invention right after Phineas was testing the device on himself. However, unlike a normal episode, which generally ends funnily, things turn dark here, as the device explodes and makes everything on Earth but Phineas himself to rot. Before long, the only one alive besides him is Isabella... and it's not long before she rots away as well.
The mod can be downloaded on GameBanana here.
Song List
- CORROSION (Rotting Isabella vs. Phineas)
nobody left but tropes...
- All There in the Manual: The mod's lore can be found on the creator's Discord, though he also posted some screenshots of it
.
- Apocalypse How: Class 6. The device Phineas and Ferb built that would give anyone superpowers collides with a ray from Doofenshmirtz's latest "Inator" right after Phineas tests the device on himself. The resulting explosion makes everything on Earth but Phineas himself rot away, leaving him the only person alive on the planet.
- Art Shift: As Isabella's decay processes, the artstyle gets better.
- Big "NO!": Phineas says this just before the song's lyrical segment.
- Body Horror: Due to Isabella slowly dying as she sings alongside Phineas, we have a nice look of her as her body starts rotting away: her skin withering, her hand missing, one of her eyes hanging from her eye socket, and overall just getting more and more nightmarish.
- Break the Cutie: Phineas, who has to see everything and everyone he loves rot into nothing thanks to a freak accident he couldn't have predicted. At the end of Corrosion, he's flat-out crying as he's aware of Isabella's imminent fate, but is completely unable to stop it.
- Call-Back:
- The song has a motif of "Gitchee Gitchee Goo" at one point, which may also count as a Dark Reprise.
- During the lyrical segment of the song, transparent clips from the actual show's opening play in the background as Isabella sings.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: It bears repeating here; Isabella (and presumably every single living thing in the world that isn't Phineas) ends up rotting alive into nothing thanks to the fatal interaction between Phineas and Ferb's invention and Dr. Doofenshmirtz's Inator.
- Darker and Edgier: Of course, being an Aethos-like mod, it's obvious that this is far more darker and bloodier than its source material, with it being an supposedly Lost Episode.
- Death of a Child: Isabella dies after the events of the mod, as mentioned below.
- Downer Ending: As expected, given the story: Isabella dies after the events of the mod, but not before letting Phineas know that she loves him, with Phineas being the only one to be alive in the whole world.
- Eye Scream: Isabella's left eye is dangling by the nerve while she brutally rips out her right later in the song.
- Glamour Failure: At first, Isabella looks normal at the start of the song, aside from a small but noticeable gap around the top of her left eye. When the song really gets into overdrive, she starts rotting away.
- Rule of Symbolism: The artstyle shifting from a low-quality Phineas and Ferb mod to that of a fantastic horror mod for the same show seems to reflect Phineas's mental state over the course of the song.
- On the first few seconds, Isabella looks normal, aside from the noticeable gap around her left eye and a worried look from Phineas, showing his efforts to stay strong like he's always been.
- After the first Art Shift, Isabella begins to actively rot away and go insane, while Phineas is clearly frightened and anguished by what's happening around him as his attempts to keep himself optimistic start to fail.
- Once the lyrics end and the Art Shift shifts again, Isabella is now close to being a walking corpse and has fully lost her mind, leaving Phineas outright crying due to no longer being able to deny the reality of his situation.
- Shout-Out:
- The Stylistic Suck intro for the song seems to be a reference to Jeffy's Endless Aethos!, with the latter also starting that way before having a more detailed Art Shift.
- Isabella's rotting design is obviously based on the zombified Max Design Pro, especially with the scarred half of her face and the missing eye. Meanwhile, her sprites in the third phase of the song (with both eyes missing) seem to take some cues from the deformed Alvin.
- The mod's song has a few references to "Final Escape" and "Facade/Shuck", both sounding at the beginning and near the end it.
- Sanity Slippage: As a result of the pain she's actively suffering while her body rots away, Isabella has gone crazy, constantly making a horrific smile.
- Sole Survivor:
Word of God is that, by the end of the mod, Phineas ends up becoming the last remaining living being in the world after everything else rots into nothing thanks to his invention.
- Stepford Smiler: Isabella. Milo008 says the reason why she's smiling is because she's gone insane from the pain of her body rotting.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: As per
Word of God, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, thanks to a beam from his latest inator causing Phineas and Ferb's invention of the day to go critical.
The only one left is you.
