Monster Math Squad is a Canadian animated television series produced by DHX Media (now WildBrain).
The series stars Max, Lily, and Goo, a trio of monsters who help the other monsters in their home village of Monstrovia solve problems that have math equations somewhere in them.
An official YouTube channel for the series can be found here.
Not to be confused with Monster Squad.
Monster Math Squad contains the following tropes:
- Blob Monster: Goo is a three-eyed, dark green blob who can shapeshift.
- Fake Interactivity: In each episode, the audience is asked if they would like to help the Squad with the episode's conflict, and to yell the episode's "math word" when Word Monster shows up, with everyone acting as though they responded with the predicted answers.
- Premiseville: Monstrovia has that name because it's inhabited by monsters.
- Rhyming Title: The episode "Double Trouble".
- Smelly Feet Gag: "The Big Stink" has a character named Stinky Feet Monster, who keeps bragging that he has "the stinkiest feet in all of Monstrovia". The titular Monster Math Squad help Stinky Feet Monster find strange ingredients for his annual foot bath and in the end it's revealed that the bath is supposed to make his feet smell even worse.
- Team Title: The name Monster Math Squad refers to the three main characters.
- Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Lily, the sole female of the Monster Math Squad, is pink, wears an orange ribbon on her head, and has eyelashes when the other two Monster Math Squad monsters (who are both male) don't.
- Title Theme Tune: "Monster! Monster! The Monster Math Squad!"
- Visible Odor: The gunk the monsters get for the Stinky Feet Monster's bath in "The Big Stink" produces a putrid brown odor.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: Goo, being a blob, can shapeshift. In many instances where the gang does a plot-relevant countdown, he shapeshifts into a 3, then into a 2, then a 1.
